childhood best friend spoke? (either in person or by phone) For me it was about a little over a year ago. We spoke on the phone. We grew up together as I was a teenager growing into adulthood. My best friend's name is Larry. One of the most remarkable things he said to me doing our last conversation together was that I was the only TRUE FRIEND, he had. You see, when I moved away from the city we grow up in, I decided to stay in touch. I took a different path in life concerning my faith and beliefs. But I didn't look at him differently when we did speak. Although he knew a change had taken place in my life, he realized that I had changed into a better person than I was before. I used to be a mess, without telling all of my dirt. He knew the type of person I used to be, because he used to be the same exact way (if not worse).
