childhood best friend spoke? (either in person or by phone)
For me it was about a little over a year ago. We spoke on the phone. We grew up together as I was a teenager growing into adulthood. My best friend's name is Larry.
One of the most remarkable things he said to me doing our last conversation together was that I was the only TRUE FRIEND, he had.
You see, when I moved away from the city we grow up in, I decided to stay in touch. I took a different path in life concerning my faith and beliefs. But I didn't look at him differently when we did speak. Although he knew a change had taken place in my life, he realized that I had changed into a better person than I was before.
I used to be a mess, without telling all of my dirt. He knew the type of person I used to be, because he used to be the same exact way (if not worse).
Okay, enough about me, because this discussion is for everyone to participate in. So when was the last time you and your childhood best friend spoke?
Thanks in advance for your responses!

I hung out with my childhood best friend about one year ago right before my brother's wedding when I went home to my parents house. I was amazed at how little she had changed. She never went to school like I did. Even her hair is the same. The only reason I went to college is because the government paid for it as I am disabled. She didn't have that option. It was kind of scary to see what my life would have been like if I had been born into a different body, but still grew up in the same town. It just makes you think.

Yesterday I saw her and we went for a long walk with her dog and caught up on things. We have been friends for over 30 years now and although we haven't lived in the same city for years now we manage to keep in touch and see each other when she comes to town to see her family and on the odd occasion I drive to spend time with her up in her city. Best friends are great no matter how long between visits it seems and when you do see them it is like they never left. I hope you get to see your friend soon too.
