If You Don't Like Ideas, Do You Delete a Friend @ Mylot?

I love all my friends here and I enjoy interacting with ALL of them, if only I have all the time in the world! But some weeks ago, I came accross this discussion about a member who got deleted from a friend's list because they disagree on certain issues. It was quite sad and illogical, I think. We just can't let everyone agree to our own opinions and ideas all the time and more so, it's just a very shallow reason to delete a friend because you disagree with him/her, right? What do you think? Happy posting ALL!

I will be honest I have deleted one person after making an insultin sort of remark which was not necessary, so I was trying to get my friends list in order over the last few weeks trying to get my favourites up to the front of my friends list by deleting people who haven't logged in for over six months and i deleted r this particulat person as well...

I reckon that isn't fair. Everybody in the world has there on personal opinion on things. How the world would be boring if everybody was the same.

I have done this and have had it done to myself. I did do it to this one person who I felt was either playing bad to get lots of responses or totally sick. He felt that killing cats and touching kids was fine and can be justified. I felt upset about these things. Maybe he is making it up because he got a lot of responses for his view and in turn made lots of money on it. So I did remove him as a friend as I didn't want to support him when he spoke this way. I have been removed as a friend from another person that I responded to daily after on one of her discussions asking how I felt about psychics and me saying that I disbelieved their "abilities" to foretell the future. I noticed right away I was removed because we did chat daily and then she was gone from my friend list. I thought it was funny because it wasn't a serious issue in my opinion and that it was her loss because I was actively posting on all her discussions which made her money, so it was her loss more than mine since I don't often make discussions while she made new discussions daily. So I think it can happen but it is at your own loss to do so cause they will likely stop posting in your discussions.

What a boring place this would be if everyone agreed with everything everyone else said. There would be no reason for anyone to ever talk with anyone else. I don't expect my friends to agree with everything I say and I certainly don't agree with everything they say. I do agree, that is a very shallow reason to delete them as a friend. Of course we don't know the whole story and maybe there was more going on then a simple disagreement. I would really hate to prejudge someone because of something that happened to someone else. There are always two sides to every story. Hugs, Tianna

I don't think you will decide on that issue only. Really, a very shallow reason and delete a friend. Not a good idea. Each of us had our own ideas, reasons etc. Everyone of us here have their own uniqueness so better understand each other. Having friends here in Mylot is just the same as having a friend in the outside world of internet. So we should be friendly and nice to everyone. Having misuderstanding is very common even on our set of friends but time will pass that we will agree on something. Right? Don't argue to friends and be rude. Be nice to everyone is a much better idea.

I strongly disagree with deleting just for ideas. because every human beings can't be have same and one opinion. i will never delete any friends if their opinion is against to me or not satisfied, every one’s mind sites are deferent and deferent thinking. if everyone is having same opinion there would be no questions will come across. am i right???? i love my friends and i don't want to make my enemy

Everyone has their own opinions, not everyone can agree to what you're saying. It's not polite to delete a person from a friend list just because you disagree with this person. Like I said, not everyone can agree to your opinions. It's really sad if ypu delete a person because of disagreements.

I will do never that besides he or she make an terrible insult on my opinion. But actually this has been never happen . All of my friends and the responds make friendly comments on my discussions . If they don't agree with me, they also express mildly and gently . And I also act in this way . Maintain the peace of Mylot call for everyone's effort .

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so I'd rather see disagreements as part of the discussion and maybe even learn from different opinions. We simply can't expect everyone agree to our ideas. Argument is one thing, but insult is another thing. I wouldn't tolerate rude insult in any way!

I know that everyone here in mylot does have different ideas, opinions and expressions and it doesn't matter anymore whether they'll disagree with mine. I will not delete them from my friend's list even if their words may sometimes hurt me. I'm a diplomatic person and so I'll respect them no matter what's in their mind.

I do not delete friends because I think all of us have the right to express how we feel or what we think. I think we should not judge others simply because they think differently. I like to hear what other people think no matter how different because this is how we learn from each other.

i'm not exactly agree with those who delete someone from their friend list just because the disagreement of some discussions, and i think disagreement is not neccssary to become a conflict between people.

Nope. This is a public forum and everybody has the right to express their view. I for one do not delete a friend just because they do not agree to my views and give their own views. If one thinks that they are so right that they do not accept other person's views, then they should be in a position to explain their reason and their side of argument instead of deleting and try to convince them about their ideas. bourne

I have not deleted any friends here at mylot. To me, this forum is great for exchange of ideas and opinions. It's important that we respect their ideas as much as they respect ours. If you have started a discussion, asking for opinions. You will find that you will get a lot of different ones, some positive, some negative. I think in that way, you have a broader perspective in life. I love all my friends, they can say whatever they want, I will not take it personally. They just want their voices heard.

If my ideas are not matching with my friends idea all the time means there is no other way than deleting from friend list. Till now i haven't faced any one like that. There are some instances where i got different opinions not all the time.
