Anyone Ever Get Tired of Chinese Food?

If you are Chinese, do you ever get tired of eating rice every single day? Doesn't it get on your nerves? No, I am not Chinese, but I've been forced to eat rice for a 2 weeks straight before. Since (most)Chinese people eat rice practically every day, I'm just curious about how they deal with it.

Chinese like eat Chinese food, Japanese like eat Japanese food. That is common that people love to eat where they are born and where they are lived. I am a Chinese and absolutely i will never get tired of Chinese food. Besides, Chinese food not just rice, neither do i eat rice every day. We also have noodles, steamed bread, gruel and so on, by the way, i like gruel most because i live in the south. May I ask where do you eat Chinese food? I guess maybe you are not eating Chinese food in China. Some of my friends in the US said that the Chinese food is totally different in America, the taste is terrible and the price is very high. If you are curious about why Chiese can eat rice everyday, maybe I am also curious why European can eat bread everyday. :D Have a nice day!

I love chinese food and dont tire of it. Of course I guess each one has their own set of tastes and preferences so that does matter. You could however try adding some variety with the side dishes and make ur meal more interesting with some chicken , meat or fish.

I will add more variety to my plain rice whenever I get the next opportunity. Perhaps I could add some salmon? =P

Hey, PumpkinThePIE, this is someone in China. I guess Chinese rice is very delicious and don't mind eating it everyday. My former classmate who happens to be a british guy, likes rice more than Chinese.lol Granted, taste is individual. You should have some cuisine with rice. Then, you will find it quite different. Of course, if I just eat rice, it is hard to stand!

Well, I guess you're right. Maybe taste is individual. It seems like almost everyone disagrees with me :(

I think it's because you don't like the way someone forces you do something. So it's tasteless when you don't really want to. Why not try different meat and vegetable with rice. I know usually meat is delicious, but vegetable isn't. So you have to cook the vegetable in Chinese way. you'll love it!

I think it's because we get used to eat rice and forget to change to another main dish. I usually just eat rice because I can meet the standard of simple and delicious. Sometime I just want to change to noodle or dumplings.

You can never get bored if you really stay in china. the variety of food is far beyond your imagination. we do eat rice, but it is only the staple, each meal, we eat many dishes with rice or baozi, or dumplings, steamed bread, huitou, shaomai, meat pie, guolao and so on. the above I mentioned are all common staple food as commom as rice.

i'm chinese and i have to say i'm not tired of rice. i've been eating rice practically every day for the past 33 years and i'm still loving it. i need my carbohydrates but i dislike noodles or bread. i think i will go mad if i have to go without rice for more than two days. this is the main reason why i'm hesitant to visit europe. i'm really worried about eating especially since it's not possible to see anything if the trip is 4 days or less. cheers

I am Chinese. And no, I never get sick of eating rice everyday. I love having it with all the mixtures of stir fries and the meat.. Maybe cause you don't usually eat rice everyday, that's why you're not used to it.

I love Chinese food very much. It has a lot of varieties that I wouldn't get tired of having it every day. I would say if the same dishes are served every day, one might get tired of having it. This goes for other cuisines too. Nevertheless, Chinese food is the best.

I agree with the responses. Just as some are used to eating salad or bread with their meals, the Chinese are used to eating rice each meal. I'm a Chinese living here in the Philippines and we're used to eating rice even for breakfast. Sure, we 'll have bread once in a while but we'll surely have a rice meal with the day. There are a lot of ways to eat rice, we sometimes fry it with herbs and sausages for a different twists.

I love Chinese food very much. I can NOT even live a day without rice,I will never get sick of rice. I was born in South and now I live in Beijing, I seldom eat noodles or steamed bread even for breakfast. Tell you one kinda yummy, fried bread dipped into porriage, adding a spoon of sugar, mmmmm... delicious, yum breakfast!

I love chinese food! Especially combination fried rice and chicken and broccoli. The only time I was ever sick of eating chinese food was when I was pregnant. And even then, I wasn't sick of it in my head, I was just getting sick to my stomach by it. :(

I really think Chinese food is yammy! When you eat rice, you eat different dishes at the same time, vegetables, meat, fish and etc. They are nutrtional. you eat hamburger or pizza day after day and why you are not get tired of them?

Hi there! I like Chinese food and I don't think I will get tired of it! Although I'm not eating Chines food everyday. I'm not Chinese but I'm Asian and I do eat rice everyday and doesn't get tired of it either, maybe because I'm so used to eating rice. And occasionally I do alternate instead of eating rice I'll have pasta or fried noodles or noodles soup. Thanks!
