i like fried food (even though i know it's unhealthy) but the act of frying them is not something i enjoy doing. the oil that we use for cooking scares me when it splatters, especially when the food that i am cooking splatters often. i know grape seed oil does not splatter much, but its awfully expensive for everyday cooking. i guess my cooking techniques need a little boost up, so i can avoid having splattery (is that even a word ) food. but i want to ask, do you like frying food? or do you dislike it like i do?

I love fried food, everything we can think of goes in our fry daddy. Do you have a fry daddy. You don't have to worry about splattering stuff. And it fries in minutes.

no, i'm afraid i have not heard of fry daddy either we don't have that in our country or i'm just plain stupid about home appliances anyways, i'll look around for that. maybe that's the answer to my problems. thank you for mentioning that!

It's like an electric pan. It's big and tall and you plug it in dump oil in it, almost to over half the pot, then when the oil gets hot you put your food in. You can use the oil over and over for a bunch of times, just leave it in the fry daddy.

Same here, I also like fried foods especially pork chops and fried chicken, though I know that it's unhealthy food, I can't resist to eat it. I got the same experience in frying foods too, I don't quite like to frying, particularly frying bangus(milk fish) and pork. Really, it splatters all over, that once in a while, I really got some a bit of burn because of it.

oh, i love fried pork chop and fried chicken! and yes, you were right in saying that fried milk fish splatters a lot when fried, especially the belly part, i think that's what make the milk fish splatter the most. i don;t get burn just once in a while. i get burned almost every time i fry food

Hi kayedanda. I have always hated frying food. Coating the food with flour is messy, frying the food is messy and I hate the smell it leaves in the house. I do have a Fry Daddy now and it is a little less of a pain to fry foods with it. A Fry Daddy is a deep fryer. Now on the other hand, I love good fried food. Fried chicken, fried pork chops, french fries, etc. Yummy! Although I know they are not the healthiest choice so I try to limit somewhat. Happy MyLotting!

it seems that i'm the only one here clueless about the fry daddy. anyways, i'll ask around if we have any of them for sale here, and if we do, i think i might enjoy frying then

I dont like the taste of fried food (except frenc fries), neither I like prepering it. My hair usually smells badly after frying things and since I have long hair I hate any kind of smell in them.

You are lucky you dont like French Fries. It is one of those foods I can never stay away from. It takes up a lot of oil too and is really not a healthy choice of food.

It really depends on my mood, and the time of the meal. During breakfast I like my meals fried, fried rice, fried SUNNY SIDE UP egg, fried hot dogs, fried fish, etc. During lunchtime and dinnertime I don't like fried foods. I had a hard time eating fried foods during this meals. I prefer foods with sauce or with soups. MY hubby and the kids are the same too. WE really are not used to eating just fried foods during lunch and dinner. Sometimes when we have no choice, I prefer some soups as a partner of the fried food. To us fried foods are bland and so dry, hard to eat with bare hands when food is dry. As for the splattering part. well no idea on how to prevent and if you do found a way, just tip it on me.

I love fried food. But nowadays i refrain myself from eating too much fried food since it is not good for my health. Usually when i fry food to avoid myself from getting hurt from splatters i use a cover. So that when the food im cooking splatters it wont hurt me and you can tell that the other side of the meat is brown when the oil stops making a noise. Then you can reduce the heat and turn it to the other side without getting burn.

Yes we love fried foods here. I try to be more health conscious and I will put more of our foods into the oven or into the crock pot. Not my fiance though. He loves to make friend foods! If he cooked often we would be bigger than the house! I love it but I try to stay away from it if I can!

hello kayedanda, actually I would prefer boiled or steam than frying. Because fried foods are not yummy for me. But actually I also ate fried foods but not very often,I am acidic so I avoid eating oily foods. That's why I would rather boil an egg than fry it or grilled pork or chicken than fried. I guess it's healthier than fried foods in which I can get too much cholesterol. BTW if you're frying example milk fish do not remove scale so it won't splatter. But I know it can't be applied to all fish coz not all fish can be fried with it scale. Happy posting

i actually don't like scales on any fish that i eat, which is the reason why i fry bangus without it. unlike the majority of answerers here, you were one of the very few who do not like fried/and or can stay away from it. *sigh* i wish i were like you. with so much discipline when it comes to eating

Fried Food is something most people crave for and it is also difficult to stay away from. But it is also one to the unhealthy foods as it drinks a lot of oil and can cause excess fat to store up in our body. I try to stay as much away from it as possible. I try not to usually make fried food at home as it makes the house to smell and also the smell sticks to our clothes. I like to fry fish a lot but never do it inside the house. I usually fry fish outside in the Barbeque. there is a side burner for the Barbeque and it is easier to cook it outside. Also there is a big factor of cleaning up after the frying which is also a nightmare.

Well I love fried food items.. But I don't generally enjoy frying them. Its super hot, any accident can happen. And the most important thing is that you have to be very fast with your hands while you are frying something as oil just gets hotter and hotter (you just can't set it in a specific temperature) And if you are not fast enough you will start burning your food.. Sometimes it pops out and if it falls on your skin it can do blunders.. But still when I am frying something it gives me a feeling that I am really cooking something!! lol (as am not much of a person who cooks )

Dear friend, I do like it, I hope I like its taste and also it is known that fry items are not good for heart patients and cardiac problems. May be it is really tasty and if the oil is much good it is much better for cholesterol people too. Any how it better to eat tasty food until the one's health stage comes not to touch it.

kayedanda, I think you will need to know that water and pan hot oil aren't the best of friends. You will need to be aware that whatever you intend to fry you should always be aware of the following: 1. Always remember to drain excess water on your veges after washing with a strainer. 2. For meats you may want to dust in with cornflour or simply use paper towels. 3. It will help to reduce the intensity of the flames before pouring your items into the frying pan. I hope the above pointers will be of help. Take care and hope that you will enjoy frying the next time.

Fried food is my favourite. Fried chicken wings, fried fritters... tasty but yet unhealthy. ya frying food splatters a lot but u can buy those cooker that can be used to fry food... i think its frying cooker (not really sure as I never cook). You can get them at major electrical appliances stores. As a cooker comes with lid, so the oil will not splatter all over.
