I have known women well into their 40's having kids. I hear that as soon as you turn 40 it can become a high risk pregnancy. So at what age should a woman stop? I am 33 and have 3 kids and 5 step kids. I think that I am done now. I could not picture having a child at 40. I commend all the women that do have kids at an older age. I just find it stressfull at 33. What do you think?

My sister is 38 and pregnant with her 7th child. I don't think there really is a right age to have a child. Woman have been in their 40's and have had no problem carrying a baby or giving birth. I think the older you are, the more patient you are with a child. At least that is the way I was. I am 37 and will no longer have children. I got my tubes tied after my last child. To many high risk pregnancies for my liking.

My sister in law is pregnant with her 7th child and she is 43! We worry about her age. Her babies have weighed as much as almost 12 pounds and the last on was the only c-section. Very risky, but I guess that was her decision.

My dear it depends on the person and how she set her goals. Alot of females put education before husband and children. After finishing their career schooling her age creep up on her and so she finds herself settling down in her late thirties. Children begin arriving in her forties. In this age of technology you will be seeing ladies having children in their fifties. I think that children is wonderful but if you think that you have reached your peak then just enjoy the ones you have.

I think that it is a personal decision. For me, I thought about how old I would be when my child graduated from highschool...I still want to be alive and kicking:) My sister had her daughter when she was 41. She is the old mom in the school, but she didn't get married until she was 40. I think that she would like to have another child, but she isn't able to anymore.

It really depends on what you think about it. Because now a days it doesn't matter what age you are all pregnancy are high risk. Both of mine that I went throught were consider high risk. I don't have high blood pressure but well I was pregnant with my first daughter I had it bad. With my second daughter I started getting blood clots. My sister with her three kids had high risk pregnancy. Actually after she had her first she wasn't supposed to be able to have anymore. So I think it really just depends on your body. And I think it wouldn't be fine if your healthy if you to choose to have a child around 40. Hope this helps. Happy Mylotting!!!!

I think it was considered a high risk pregnancy in the past, I am not so sure if it is still considered that way today but A lot of women are having kids in their 40s and it seems 50s now without putting themselves and babies in danger. It has to be tough on them but then again motherhood can be a blessing but it is not easy at any age, I think it will be stressful no matter what.

I dont think it is about age, it is more about, if you still want to have a child. I have a friend who got married and the age of 43 and she doesnt have any previous child, so she really wanted to have a child of her own even she is at 40's, the doctor said that it can still be posible at the certain age but as you said their is some risk of getting it.
