why do people have loud music?

I've always wondered why some people have thier music so loud that they want the person two cars down to hear it also. sometimes this annoys me because i am listening to soft music with windows up and i hear their music over my music!
does this annoy you?

I have a fantasy for my next car (I do not drive presently) - I will have external speakers hidden underneath.
When those kind of people pull up next to me, I flip the switch, and play at full blast Modest Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain. If I am still in their vicinity when it ends I will put on Tsiolkovsky's violin concerto.
We will see how they like that.

that's what im talkin about! LOL i know it's a free country but i get tired of sitting at the light and can't hear my own music but rather hear someone else's music.

It depends on someone perception of music. Loud music tends to make some people feels alive and kicking while others just cant stand the volume. It ia a matter of showing some one emotion on how he feel about the music.

yeah i can understand that, i guess there a lot of people that are like that. It's very common in my area and um sure it's very common in most places as well.
