Found money on the street?

You can almost always find a penny (US money) on the street but I am curious as to what is the most money you have found. For me, I think it was a few dollars. Do you feel sad for the person who lost the money? Do you feel like turning the money in to somewhere that might find the owner of the money? If it is a lot of money, do you turn it in to the police? What other things have you found and turned them in to hopefully find the owner or kept for yourself?

I found $60 in a wallet once, and stupidly kept it. A few weeks later I lost some money out of my pocket. What goes around comes around.

Sometimes we make decisions or do things that we regret later. I want to believe what you say that "what goes around comes around" because there are people who are cruel to animals (which is my pet peeve) and I want them to pay for their abuse to animals. Animals are so innocent. If I find any money and cannot find the owner, I will put it toward an animal charity.

Hi friend, If i would find a lot of money on the street i would definitely try to retun it to the owner.I have done that.Once i found Rs200(about 5$).I did not knew whose it was. When i enquired with the surrounding shops i found out that it was of the person in the next shop.He owned that shop.I went and returned the money to that person. He was very happy and told me to take something from his shop.I did not want anything but he forced and a took a bundle of A-4 sheets for my printer. In this way i got rewarded for my good deed. If i do not find the owner of the thing i find i will handle it to the cops or i would donate it.I would never keepit with me.

Also a very commendable thing for you to do. I am happy that you were rewarded for doing something so nice. I think getting the paper for your printer was great as we all can use that kind of gift. You are a very honest person and that is hard to find in these days of turmoil that we have. Good for you!

I have no problem keeping money. Especially since I need it. My automatic reaction if I see someone drop money is to give it to them, but if I don't know who it belongs to, I am fine keeping it. What could the police do anyway? Now, if I found a wallet, that is a different story, I would try to track the person down.

If I found money, I will look around first. If there is no anyone, so I will take it as mine. If there is a people I will ask him/her first. If the answer is no, then the money is belong to me. Keep post happy myLotting...

I found a 5 dollar bill in an empty gas station parking lot. I kept it. It didn't occur to me that the person may come back and check all over the parking lot. He didn't and I had five extra dollars. Also one time, the bank gave us an extra 100 dollars in our check cashing and I couldn't accept that. I drove back around immediately after I found it and gave it back and explained to them their mistake. They were very grateful as they would have gotten in alot of trouble at the end of the day if they were 100 short!

Well, what a commendable thing to do. I hope you continue to find money and receive blessings for your generosity. I do not think many people would think of doing what you did, but the idea is very nice. Since I am particularly fond of helping out homeless animals, my donation would be to an animal charity.
