Has your toddler said someting really funny as a response or putting words togetehr a bit wrong? Isn't it wonderful when they are learning a language? We don't realize how amazing it is sometimes that its like they were dropped in an entirely foreign country where everything from enviroment to customs are new to them and they are literallly learning an entire language. There are some who spend years and years in another country and barely learn a few words!

my daughter hears the word "stupid" most of the time..from kids her age and from my husband's daughters. one time we were all on the way to the mall and her seatbelt got stuck on her booster seat...she just said "stupid seatbelt" gosh. i never heard my daughter say those word before. i told her it was bad but then again it's really funny for us.

Lol i can completely relate to this. My son was trying to do a jugsaw and oculdn't fit the last piece so he said stupid thing. That was a few weeks ago. I've found that telling him to say silly instead of stupid has really worked and i now hea him saying silly this and that... Bless =)

My son has trouble pronouncing some of his words but it is very cute to hear! He says things like 'Your welpum'(your welcome) and 'That's Mafis'(that's massive) Adorable! =)

My daughter is actually picking up talking very well. She is not quite 2 years old and she is talking up a storm. When she wants to of course. She has days where she does not talk to anybody but family. My favorite thing she says is when she gets mad at someone for doing something that she does not like she tells them to get in the corner.

That's very funny! My son won't talk "on command" to impress family either - outside of me and his dad. We live far away and he was under one the first time - and the last time he was quiet the first couple of days and my MIL - who thinks he's behind in other areas as well - her kids and other grandkids were between seven and nine months when potty trained - says he might be slow. Then when he finally began talking the last few days of our vacation - she felt she had been the one to teach him the words he's been saying for months! He chats up a storm but its almost always slightly garbled so it takes him saying things for quite a while - sometimes weeks before the aha moment - oh he's saying, what are you doing? (I say almost always because sometimes he'll say things - the same things he garbles - clear as a bell) He will also mix up letter like say d for t - but say the t at the end. He hasn't come up with anything funny yet although bath is his favourite word and pastime and evertime he's near a sink he says - bath! And he crawls into the tub when I'm using the bathroom and sits down and says bath!
