Are there different ways to make ahot toddy? Do you only make one if you are sick or do you make one to warm up? What is your recipe for a hot toddy? Does it really help a cold or not?

My dad always swore by them, they were always the answer to burn the germs out of you and to sweat them out of your system, I hated them when I was growing up, I hated the taste of whisky! But when I substituted rum for whisky I preferred the taste, for my hot toddy I had a mug of coffee with a good helping of rum and boy did that make me sweat, great to warm your insides up too, although if you are going to bed it's probably better to use hot chocolate instead of coffee.

I wonder how it would taste in hot chocolate? I have never tried that before.Sounds wonderful. I guess it would make you sleep. I can see the fireplace going and sitting there sipping chocolate...and getting very sleepy....lol
