Do you like to buy treats that look appetizing to you?

My dog - I think he wants more treats.

I notice that when I am in a Pet Store, I am more likely to buy treats that look like people food. Also, I would think that soft treats are better because they're more like real meat. I also would buy bacon ones because I love bacon! I don't really think about which ones are best for the dog's teeth, because if I were a dog, I would want the yummier ones. How do you shop for your dogs' treats?

I usually buy the bacon ones. Seems to be my dos favorite. I have fallen pray to the treat buffet because they looked like food I like. My dog didn't like them and I couldn't figure out why. Then, on a dare, i tasted one and understood. They did not taste anything like real food. Didn't even try to.

Bacon is awesome, and I think a person can not physically not eat it. I feel really bad for Jewish people, I don't know if turkey bacon is that good.

I think we all do that, thankfully dogs and cats love bacon and the things that we buy them.

Well I do not buy commercial treats for our dog. He gets meat and dry food for his dinner and he has chicken wings as his treat. One chicken wing a day plus the occasional bone keep his teeth very healthy. They need bones of some sort to clean their teeth and chicken wings solve both problems, they give him bones that he can eat, clean his teeth and give him a tasty meat treat as well.

Yea i always end up buying beggin strips for my dog. I don't know why because he's content with whatever he get usually. Most of the time we will end up buying him the box of milkbones and that will last forever but we always end up buying him something that human like.

I usually just buy the treats in the boxes unless I go to the little shop near me where she has all the bones and treated displayed like an old fashioned lolly shop in the jars the things, I find that hard, she also has baskets on the floor with all different bones in them and she lets the dogs pisk their own..

When I go to shop for dog treats, I let my dog choose what she finds appetizing. I show her the food and she lets me know if she wants it or not. She is a bit of a picky eater. So far she loves milk bones and Zukes treats. The reason that I don't go for what looks appealing to me is that it may not be appealing to my dog and she is the one eating them. My dog enjoys both hard and soft treats. I have tried the chewy milk bone treats and my little girl just loves them like there is no tomorrow. I was astonished to read that there was sugar in the ingredients. I give those treats to her very sparingly. I don't bother with the bacon or pork treats as I do not feed her red meat. I am still trying to figure out if pork is considered a red meat or not.. If I were a dog I would want the yummier ones too and heck with the teeth. Again, I just allow my dog to choose her own treats when we go to the pet food supply store. They have bins of all sorts of bulk treats. i will take one out of what I think she will like and put it up to her. If she goes to put it in her mouth, chances are very good that she is going to eat it if we get it. The store often gives us samples when we come in too so that is a very good indicator as well.

They definitely make pet treats so they'll appeal to the human beings who are paying for them! I doubt the doggies give a toss about the appearance - they'd be going for the smell and then the taste. I used to love the look of those disc-shaped doggy chocs they made years ago (probably still do). They actually smelled pretty excellent, too!
