Have you pawned off the chores you hated doing as a child onto your own kids?

As a child I some of my chores included: 1. Taking out the trash 2. Washing dishes by hand 3. Sweeping and Mopping 4. Keeping the 1 bathroom that everyone used clean 5. Going to the laundrymat and washing and folding my own clothes As an adult my children's chores are very similar: 1. Taking all the garbage in the house and putting it inside the outdoor garbage bin 2. Loading and unloading the dishwasher, cleaning up any liquid spills they made in the kitchen 3. Vacuuming the entire house including the kitchen 4. Keeping their bathroom clean (free from soap scum on the sink, and tub) 5. Washing and folding their own clothes I think my kids have the same chores I did as a child, but they have it much easier, as their have extra sets of hands to help them, rather as I rarely had any. How about you and your own children?

As a child, I did pretty much every chore there is to do, including helping to paint the house. Now, as a parent, I also have my children do chores. The difference is, I only expect my kids to do things that they also see me doing, and I am not as picky as my parents were. I think that doing chores is good for kids. It teachesd them responsibility as well as skills they will need when they are out on their own.

Oh I think I would not, well the only chores that I hate back then was washing the dishes and if my kids will not like it too, well I would not make them do it. as you know my kids are still young, oldest is 5 and though they are young I gave responsibilities to them, simple task such as closing the doors etc, and if they grow older I think I will give simple house hold chores too but not something like I had when I was growing up. a little easier I think.
