What is god?

The bible say that God is a spirit and they that worship him worship him in spirit and in truth. When Moses went on the mountain to receive the Commandments God present himself as a burning fire. The bible also say that God made man in his own image. What I would encourage you to do is try and have a relationship with him and all the question that you want to know he will give it to you. God has never shown himself to a person he always present himself in ways that person will say that he is hiding. In my estimation I would say that he is both of them.

I'm a Christian, so my response will be slanted in that direction. If you have a Bible, read the first chapter of Romans. I John 1:5 says that "God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all." God has many characteristics, but probably the best way to describe Him is what He called Himself when Moses asked Him His name. His answer, "I AM WHO I AM." I think that means He'll be whatever we need Him to be, whether that's a doctor, a provider, a friend, a Savior.

The Bible says everything about my God. He can be your God too.. Well' some say that He is not true or He doesn't exist or the bible is invalid or null.... Hmmmmmmmpp.. Ok here it is, Jesus Himself, the greatest Man in history, proved the existing of God. Also, if the Words from the Bible is not true, then why are the prophecies written here came to pass? Which is easier to believe, to say that God exists, or to see a lame man walk in a single prayer, or to see a blind man see, or to witness a paralytic man gain his physical strenght?? The true and living God is the creator of the heaven and earth and the entire universe. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is a person with emotion, intellect and will. Read the Holy Bible to know more about Him. He revealed Himself to His holy prophets like Elijah, Samuel, Isaiah, King David.

Man has been asking these questions since the beginning of time and is no closer to the answer as he ever was. The Bible tells us that God made man in His own image. To me that means we are exactly the same as God. Were God is isn't as easy to answer. This isn't something that we really have a need to know. Just knowing that God is there, where ever there is, should be enough.

It seems to me that the Bible is God's word. If that is true and the scholars say it is then I would suggest studying and reading the Bible. Although there are many other religions other than Christian that you can study and read and they also say that their religion is the true word of God. Find something that you can be comfortable with and get into it if you want to find God or a God. Crocket.

As long as the human species been on this earth there has always been a god, in one form or another. That statement is, in its' self, telling. It raises an important philosophical point as to the nature of god. Can god exist with out the human mind? I don't think so. I know of no other animal that has a concept of god. Gods existence is entirely dependent on the human mind. For this reason there are those who consider god a myth, the creation of us, not the creator. If god is a myth the myth is the most persistent one we have and is the father and mother of a our other myths. Just because god exists only in our minds does not necessarily make god a myth or an illusion. Every one of us has some concept of god and as a result makes god real. The process of thinking about god wills god into reality. Even the most hardened atheist has a personal concept as to the nature of god. You can not claim to believe god does not exist if you do not first have a concept of what god is. What is god? God is an expression of how we view the world. Everyone has their own god and god's reality is a product of how we think of her.
