I posted about a week ago a little bit on a problem I had with a business. They tried to placate me by giving me a miniscule refund of what they owed me, so I followed through with my threat to turn them over to the Better Business Burea. Well, I just checked my account today and I was refunded my total amount! I didn't expect it to happen this quickly or easily. I am so happy that something has actually gone right for once :)

Good for you reiny I am glad it worked out for you. I wish I would have done something about LA weightloss when they closed down a year ago.

It would have been nice if you could have gotten some of that money back. It's sad that places don't have to even deal with their debt when they go out of business.

I know what you mean. It's hard to do it on your own...

What's sad is all the people they took money from. It is a good program and I would be doing well but without someone to be accountable to I am gaining the weight back.

Good for you. I'm glad to hear that it actually worked out and you got a total refund. I hope others in your situation will be encouraged to fight for themselves as well.

So many times a huge company will do wrong to the consumer and we think we have no recourse. I'm glad the BBB was there to help me, and it was pretty simple.

I am glad for you. Usually hubby handles those types of things for us, as it has happened before in the past that we have gotten soaked, like you were. Sometimes the consumer wins, I guess.

I don't usually report businesses, or threaten to, but if they're wrong they need to be accountable for it. If it's legit I'll definitely go for what I'm entitled to. I'm sure there are times when you have to bite the bullet and take a loss, I'm just glad this wasn't one of those times for me :)

I am so glad that it went your way. I bet they thought that they would call your bluff. WTG on following through. Maybe it will teach them not to take advantage of people and try to get away with it.

I wish I had read their BBB profile BEFORE I did business with them. There are so many people that have turned them in because of bad practices. I think they just rely on the people that WONT turn them in, and that's how they keep making money.

Hey reiny! Nice going! Sometimes if you threaten them it does work! I had a problem with company who tricked me into something, I can't remember exactly what it was. But, they scammed me and when I threatened with calling the BBB they stopped harrassing me and refunded my money finally. They knew that they were wrong and didn't want the trouble because they knew that they would lose. They knew that I was serious and that I wasn't backing down. Sometimes you have to be willing to go all the way with the threat. So good for you in getting your money back@

I thought letting them know I was going to report them would make them act. I guess they figured I was bluffing. They were wrong on that front! I'm just so glad it didn't take forever to resolve...

That is great. Most companies these days are into ripping you off and they don't care about the results. I am glad that the BBB reporting got them to think in the right direction!

Way to go reinydawn. That is great to hear. Glad that they didn't give you a hard time about it. That really does surprise me after they took from you for over a year and at first just give you back such a small amount. That should make you feel so much better.

It really was a shame that I had to go through that because they obviously knew they were wrong if they refunded me the money 2 days after I filed the complaint. Some businesses have no business being in business!
