Who is the Boss in your home? Mom, Dad, husband, or the Dog? In ours it's no contest the Dog has this all wrapped up.

I live with my 13 year old son and it is no contest - he is the boss! Having fought for 12 years to win custody of him from a mother who treated him horribly as if he did not matter - she used him as a weapon to take revenge on me - I now am enjoying every minute together. I don't spoil him as he has never asked for anything unreasonable - we just enjoy our time together - he tells me what he wants me to do and normally I go along with it. Besides he argues better than I do and he always wins the arguments so what chance do I have?

I know just what you mean, I was a child used as a weapon by my Mother against my Dad. So I understand how much your son must treasure his relationship with you. Thank you for your rresponse.

I am sorry to hear that it happened to you as well. How old were you when you realised what was going on and what is your relationship like now with your parents?

I know where you are coming from Well, I must say that my two cats rule the roost around here. And as you probably do yourself, we let them. My one cat sleeps in the bed on my husband's side, so my husband makes room for him, then that doesn't allow me much room when I am trying to go to sleep. My other cat takes over our chairs. It is like playing musical chairs, as soon as I leave my seat, when I come back she is so comfortable, that I do not want to remove her. I will then sit on the edge of my chair, really uncomfortable, but I will not disturb her.

I know just what you are saying, I leave my chair for a short time and come back to an occupied chair. You have to laugh here is a hugh human sitting on the edge of the chair so the cat will have room. My husband doesn't even try he just finds another chair. Thanks for your response
