I just want some response on why do you think a cellphone is important in your life? As for me, I do think cellphone as an important part in my life. However, I did not own a cellphone for two years during my study because of some reasons. Although I did not use a cellphone at that time, I can still manage my life successfully.

Sitting at home, I don't feel its necessity so much now. Thats because I have a landline at home. When I was running a business (I had to give it up for personal reasons), it definitely was a necessity. I make sure my sons have one each, so that I can contact them any time in any emergency. Moreover I know where they are and that they are safe.

I can say that there was a necessity which needed to be bridged and my mobile has just filled up that gap. I always missed out important calls and my family members just were worried if i am late to reach home but all this has now been eliminated. I used to make phone calls to my broker for stock prices now and then which i now just check up on the net on my mobile. When ever i need to contact someone by mail my mobile is handy. So the benefits are numerous and one can experinece the difference when one possesses one. I too was happy without a mobile but once i had it i knew the difference.

Cell phone is important in my life for few reasons. I use my cell phone for work purpose & right now, I'm involved in 2 jobs. One, I'm working in home improvement retail store & another is translation work. Although I only pick up few jobs for translation job, it brings in considerable income. I need a way to keep a line of communication for that job. Line of communication is also important for retail side of my job as well.

I need cellphone for our business. We have to be contacted with ease. I use all it's advantages. Cellphone is one great technologies widely available nowadays. But of course we can still live with out it, but a little discomfort without one.

Cellphone is important to me because I am mobile and I am comfortable to go certain places on my own. So it is important for me to bring my cellphone so that other people can easily contact me.

I have an elderly and sick mother and I need to be reachable. When my father was dying and I was in Houston, my sister had to have the operator interupt a phone call by my friend because she needed to reach me. Mind you, in 1984 cell phones weren't an option. Before I retired from the state, I worked in an office where there was 1 phone for 5 people and 2 of them used the land line all the time. I got the cell then so I could be reached by my mother if she needed me. Granted, I had lousy reception in the office but I would know she had called and could either go outside to talk to her or call her back on the office phone. Now, I'm often away from the house either driving places or at work and I need to be reachable. That is why I NEED a cell phone.

I really don't think that I NEED a cell phone. My kids have talked me into getting one and there are times that I am glad that I have one, but I would use a public phone or just go home and use my one at home and be just as happy. I forget mine occasionally and sometimes it is a pain when someone calls and I don't want to be bothered. Of course, I choose not to answer on occasion, also. I do have a different kind than most since it is made for older people and set up only for talking and not doing all the other things that phones can do.
