Things I want to do in the province

Bear with me guys, I went home to my province last weekend, but not to visit my dead relatives (as I said to a friend inquiring if I will go to the cemetery, I told her the people that I wish was dead are still alive, joke!) and so (even on the way there I experienced a full 3 hours throwing up episode, imagine a medium sized plastic was full of my vomit.. yuck!) well I still manage to take some sight seeing on the way back and still thinks of a nice topic here in mylot. WE went home to my mom's house and then we visited a farm area with lots of Mango trees. I was thinking how nice it could be eating fresh riped mangoes under the tree or sitting under it while eating rice and grilled fish (hit or bulig) and some pickled rice on the side, so simple life. And then I thought how nice it would be to experience harvesting rice, oh well you know it is hard, you have to wear long sleeves to prevent sun burn (whoa! who can think of farmers using NIvea? ) oh and then after harvesting it was brought to rice mill and how fun it is to help drying it up.. And I thought how fun it would be to swim on the river (we did before when I was still a kid) My province is in Nueva Ecija and there is a mount there (or a not active volcano they say)it is called Mount Arayat and the stream that flows from there is so nice I wish I can go back there and swim. And I thought of eating bibingka with salted eggs, while the cool breeze of December dawn, touches my skin.. WHoa I am being poetic, oh well that is what a province wind can do{em{lol{/em} [bGUys what are the things you can think of it that is good in the province?[/b]

I have always loved eating in the field. That one I really love to do when visiting the province. My Mom is from Pampanga and whenever we had a chance to visit the place...we always look forward to visiting the farm where there are lots of mango, avocado, santos, caimito and cashew trees and vegetables like amplaya, tomatoes, upo, patola and a lot more. I long for the cool and green surroundings and the birds freely flying around. Of course I love having picnic under the biggest mango tree there. The sweet taste of the newly picked vegetables and juicy fruits around I also do miss. I love the farm...it's so relaxing. Given the choice I'd rather stay in the farm for some few days of vacation than anything else.

First of all.. you were very graphic with your story about you throwing up whih is very disgusting. LOL the thought of it makes me wanna puke as well. Anyways, I like province too. I used to live in Laguna but it's not really much like a province anymore. However, I do visit batangas or masbate. What I like about it is fresh wind, eat lots of fresh coconuts, eat mangoes/ jackfruits/ santol/ guava (oh yeah we used to steal our neaighbor's duhat and suha lol) haayyy would be nice to do it again. I'm sure they won't mind us doing it again. lol

hi..ohhh i really envy you now... how i wish i also have a province to visit and come home to. well the things that i like to do while in the province: eat lots of fresh coconut meat, drinks lot of coconut water, go the sea and swim, go to the mountain and hike as high and as far as i can, then come back to the house and sleep for the whole afternoon and listen to the wind, then at night gaze at the stars because i know that in the province..it is peaceful and the sky has lots of stars than in the city. oh well friend...back in reality...all i did today is run around and watched my 3 kids...they are oh bunch of energizers...and now im so tired i want to sleep na...im so sorry for the vomiting..me too i really hate it when i vomit.

Yes you are so poetic.. You describe it so well (I passed the vomit things..yuks ... Anyway it is really feel like a simple life, eventhough its not realy simple when you have to go through it everyday. When I go home to my province in Lombok which is an island away from Bali, I always thought of Durian trees my grandmother have in her backyard. waiting for Durian to fall and eat it in a small gazebo is the things I missed so much everytime I smell Durian. My grandmother also have rambutan plantation (Rambutan is just like lychee but taste sweeter), I remember eating rambutan directly from the trees which I ussualy climb and some ants bite me..hehehe... Sometimes we went for picnic on the beach with lots of grilled fish and young coconut and play catch and run my my brother and sister...

It's always good to be able to go home to pleasant childhood memories, and for those of us who can't get there we still have the memories

My province is Surigao del Sur. I love it there because food is very abundant. I always tell my parents that if I'm going home I want these little??? wishes: 1. I want them to prepare Lechon for me. I always wanted my dad to cook that because he has a unique recipe and mind you its very delicious. 2. I want them to cook lobster (very big), crabs (big ones) and shrimps (as big as my hands). We have abundant supply of seafoods because my parents have friends that own ponds that harvest these foods. 3. Want them to make GUSO salad for me. It's a special seaweeds that will be mixed with vinegar, lots of onions and ginger and lemon. It makes my tummy crave for it. 4. I also want to have a small gathering in our house where all my relatives will be there and do our usual stuff. 5. I have so much things that I want to do in my mind,,,heheheh hope, I can go home and have these small wishes come to reality..^^,

YEah, province life is actually quite fun but tedious also.. Especially for those youngsters or ple whom are used to pampered life style.. To them, province life is hell and not heaven.. haha ^_^ I always like to try out farming, because it's an enriching experience where i won't get to have anywhere ^_^ It's an unique experience, and along with those cows or water buffaloes, stepping and working in the paddy fields, getting dirty from the mud, it's all worth it.. hehe ^_^ PLus camping on the outside seems to be quite a good idea too, and also seeing one's own harvest, will make the whole trip even more worth it ^_^

When I think of the province, I think of home... "where there's love overflowing"... hehehe I guess you made me miss my province more (bicol). I love it during summer where the mango trees around our house are abundant nature. Where every single visitor won't leave our place without a plastic bag full of "indian mango, starapple and many other fruits available". I love the moment where you'll only pick the fruit when you are about to eat it. I also love it when friends will invite me to visit their farms. We harvest camote, cassava, pechay, corn and I won't stop until they give me half dozen of fresh buco which I'll eat it fresh. No silver spoons. Only the "custom-made" spoon from the coconut husk. wow a wonderful life. In the evening, we always make sure to gather together and think of something to cook while we're stargazing or just having fun. Five houses from our place is my Uncle Roderick Paulate's vacation house where he also visits the place during summer. The beach is just 5 kilometers away, if we still have the energy, we will walk going to the beach to have an early morning swimming, the water is like a pool, still, clean and calm. In the afternoon, I will ask friends to bring me to the river and the spring where they get their drinking water. Wow. life in the province is so laid back. I guess, i'll start planning to visit home this coming summer. Haven't been home for almost 3 years now. Happy myLotting to all!

Aside from the food, nature, infratructures, and others, the main difference between the city and the province is the fresh air. Because of too much advancements, we don't have the luxury of having fresh air in the city. There are a lot of good things in the province, such as, one got to experience nature in a wider perspective, also, one learns to appreciate simple life.
