Did Lifting Weights Throw Off Your Shoots?

I use to be a really good shooter in basketball. I started to lift weights in my mid-teens and afterward I know longer had the soft touch to score as many long distant shoots. I could still make them but not as good as I use to. I noticed when I layed off the weight lifting for a while the soft touch a the swish sound of the long distant shoots came back. The shoots had a tendacy to brick out much easier when I lifted weights or they would rattle in. No wonder Shaq is not good at free throws. Did you have this problem if you lifted weights?
