Do you use the free email service yahoo? Have you had any problems?

I've been using yahoo as my email service for a long while now and to date I've had no problems with them. I tried to access my email this morning though and I did but I noticed something different! Where were my email messages in my inbox? I had about five email messages listed! Where did they go? Can anyone explain this as I am totally baffled! Also, do you know how you can contact yahoo customer services directly? I have been looking for an email address for them on the site but can't seem to find one. It's strange regarding my inbox "no messages". I would like to know if this has happened to you. I would be grateful for any feedback. Thanks. Andrew

Hi Andrew. I have been using yahoo for a long time and i haven't experienced a case like yours. The only thing i experienced is that my boss don't received mails i send during the night. But he can receive mails from me during daytime. Hope you could find answers to your problem with Yahoo....

Hi, it seems like I must be jinxed or something! Well, I will monitor my email account and see if anything else out of the ordinary takes place. I am satisfied with the yahoo service otherwise. Thanks. Andrew

Hiya Andrew. I use yahoo, gmail and hotmail and have never had this happen to me before. I do know that they will remove information from accounts that have been inactive for long periods of time but if this is not the case with you and you have always been active within your account then I am not sure why this may have happened? Did you check in the trash folder to see if they may have been deleted accidentally? Check any sub folders you may have also because they may have been moved without you realizing it.

Hi James, yes, I check into this account on a daily basis to see if there are any new emails. The thing is, these five particular emails, I kept them there as they had some important information and they were easier to access this way. I normally mark them with a flag and they are there if I need them. I have a couple of other email addresses with yahoo and I do the same thing but I have had these emails for a very long time and they have always been there. I have tried looking for some contact information but the only thing that shows is these different help areas. There's no email address or anything! Oh well, thanks anyway, Andrew

Hi Andrew, I understand completely what you have experienced. However, this has not happened to me for sometime. The first thing I would do is scan your pc for any viruses, malware and trojan horses. Secondly, i would change your Yahoo! password immediately. If you haven't already, do go ahead and sign up for the New Yahoo! Mail, if they haven't already asked you. It is much better than the old Yahoo! mail and Yahoo! appears to be slowly migrating everyone who already has an email account, over. As far as contacting customer support at Yahoo!, Good Luck to actually get a real human being. Generally when you send an email to Yahoo! support, you will get back the same generic auto response as everyone else and that's about it. In the meantime, you can check their help files, access from your mail log in page, Top Right, there should be a link that says"Help". If you think that your account may have been compromised, I highly suggest to send in a report. This can be done via the help pages. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/classic/contactus/index.html Scroll down to Customer Care (reply needed) This will take you to a page to log in if you are not already. From here you may be able to even get a response.. Things may have changed since I needed help with a similar problem, but that was sometime ago. Hope this helps.

Thank you. I wouldn't give up on Yahoo! btw. Stuff happens, sometimes. I am sure that this is something that Yahoo! will want to know about though. Even if they respond simply with their generic autoresponse. Best To you. Let us know if you actually engage in any dialog and what Yahoo! has to say.

Hi, thanks for the information that you have provided. I will wait for this automated response and then hopefully, some further information will be provided. I scan my system once a week on a Saturday and everything seems fine at present. Still, perhaps it's a good idea to change my password, as you say. Thanks again. Andrew

I've been using Yahoo ever since I started using the computer and normally I have no problems. Although, like you there were two times when it appeared that all of my e-mail in my inbox had disappeared and it all usually reappears the next day. I don't worry too much about it. I have the Yahoo customer service #, but, I forgot how I got it. The next time you're on the FAQ page go to the very bottom and see if they have a site map. I'm pretty sure that's where I got the #. There you will find addresses to write to as well. I hope someone can help you. Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

Hi, thanks for your information. I have written an email now to customer services so I'm now waiting for some kind of response. It's strange for the emails to just be deleted like that though. Luckily it was just five messages and not five times five messages! Andrew

Hi Andrew That's quite unlikely! I haven't had anything of that sort whatsoever. I just hope the admin replies back soon. Is it possible that your account has been hacked? Just change you password for safety. Good luck!

Yes, this is totally strange. Everyone has mentioned how I should change my password and so, I have done this now, just to be safe. I am awaiting a response from yahoo though. I want to know if they have any experience with this or whether they know what is going on. Other than this, I am very pleased with the yahoo service and I've never really had a problem with them. Andrew

Hi Andrew. I am using yahoo mail for past 9 years. But i never had such problem with yahoo. Yeah sometimes i was unable to login to yahoo mail because they had some problem in their servers. But never a problem like yours. Now i can only guess what happened to your mails. You have used some pop3 mail client like outlook express or some other. There is option in those clients that if u retrieve your mail in them then the original mails will be deleted from yahoo inbox. That could be the only possible cause for what happened to your mails. Other than that i don't know. Hope that will help.

Hi, thanks for your information. I don't actually use the email system that comes with my computer, outlook express. So, it's not linked to my yahoo account. I think I remember hearing what you are referring to though and that's a good idea but I never use it. Well, I have finally left a message with yahoo and so, I'm hoping that they can provide me with some answers. Thanks for your thoughts. Andrew

NO i have not had anything like that happen before this is the first that I have heard of. The only time that I see the no messages is when I have deleted all of the messages out of my mail box. Or when I have not received any messages. H Have you wrote to them and asked about what it could be?

Hi, I too have had no problems with yahoo, not until this morning at least when I tried to access my five emails. I have finally located the section where I could send an email message to customer services and so, I have just done this. I'm hoping that I receive some positive answers. Thanks. Andrew

Andrew; I have two Yahoo accounts. Once, a few weeks ago, it told me I had 2 messages, but there were actually none in my inbox at all. When I did get messages, it added to the 2, but it would just be any new ones. Suddenly the 2 message thing disappeared. Not sure why that happened, but it stayed on my account for a few days.

This could be a possibility although I don't know how this would happen except through some kind of keylogging software! I have all the protection on my pc though and I generally keep it up to date so I shouldn't have any problems with my password being hacked into. Thanks. Andrew
