Here its full of craze with various religious system, so well its time to my daughther to remove the hair. As a practive we all go to our holy place Tirupathi and take off the hairs as well. So the planning is going on and i think it will happen at end of this month. Then what over there in your family and tradition

just yesterday, one day after my daughter turned one, we brought her to the salon to have her hair cut.. as per tradition (or at least, what i was used to) we are only allowed to cut babies' hair when they turn one and keep it inside a book. whether it be a math book, science book or even a dictionary.

Well, in my country... the only practice i know is giving the baby a hair cut only when he/she reaches 1... and it is usually done by either the mother or the father... i cut my daughter's hair myself... and saved some of the locks... i keep it inside my wallet...

Even we have the same tradition of shaving head called 'mundan'. It is done mostly when the baby is one year plus. I don't know the reason, but head shaving atleast once during childhood is a must.

The only "practice" I have for when my child gets his/her hair cut for the first time is to save a lock of hair in an envelope to be added to their baby book.
