Each time I start my computer the folling comes up, "devices or application disabled. CD recording software will cause Windows to become unstable. Windows has prevented these drivers from loading. Click for more details. Direct cd3-bad driver installed. I don't have DirectCD3 loaded on my computer, a search for it finds nothing. How do I get this message to stop?

Direct CD is the package writing software that is installed with Roxio, so if you are using Roxio CD Maker or Roxio Easy Media Creator then you will also have Direct CD. I am pretty sure that Direct CD 3 is quite a late version. Package writing is used for formatting a Writable CD so that you can drag and drop files to it. I suspect it may also be used for erasing a rewritable disk. If you are using Roxio, you could either try repairing the installation or uninstall and reinstall the software. You could also try deselecting Direct CD during the install.
