How to cancel a merchant in Paypal: this is important.

I inquired from Paypal on how can I cancel a merchant (this case GDI) if I have the difficulty of canceling it thru the merchant's website. I actually have the hard time canceling my GDI 7-day trial account because the site is requiring me to call their USA office. I am from the Philippines and it will cost me some money in doing so. this is quite unfortunate in this online age...how can a technologically advanced site not provide an easy way to cancel the membership? So I ask Paypal for some help. This is what they have replied. Within the reply is the way to cancel the merchant from your Paypal account. "Hello Tom Sedaya, Thank you for contacting PayPal. I hope all is well with you, my name is Judy and I would be happy to look further in to your account. I understand that you would like assistance on the charge deducted in your PayPal account. I checked your PayPal account and it shows here that you entered a billing agreement with the merchant: Global Domains International. A Payment Agreement allows a buyer to authorize a merchant to withdraw funds for a payment directly from the buyer's PayPal account. Before a participating merchant can withdraw funds from a buyer's account, the buyer must enter into a Payment Agreement with PayPal. Once the Payment Agreement is set, the merchant can withdraw funds directly from the buyer's PayPal account. **********To cancel a Payment Agreement on a merchant-by-merchant basis:******** 1. Log in to your account at https://www.paypal.com/. 2. Click "Profile" at the top of the page. 3. Click the "Pay List" link in the Financial Information column. 4. Find the merchant whose agreement you want to cancel. 5. Click on the merchant's name or email address. 6. Click the "Cancel" link. ********************************************************************************* Please let me know if you need further assistance. Sincerely, Judy PayPal, an eBay Company"

Hello friend i can understand your plight as i too have undergone the same problem some months ago. As i too thought that to cancel my account i need to make a call which is both expensive and inconvenient due to timings, i delayed contacting them but finally they cancelled my account just on the basis of my email request. So you too send them a email and they will ask you some security question based on which they will close your account. Gud luck!

Tom that's a great help and a good information to all of us when the need arise and it would be a learning lesson, at least for me, not to engage directly in this kind of transactions. Thank you for keeping us posted of your situation and you just helped a lot because of this discussion of yours. Keep up the good work man. Here's something for you "A good seed sown, bears good fruit in due time".
