Can also ask the above question in these ways… What if electricity didn't exist? What if humans didn't know how to use electricity?Imagine cold showers or baths no microwave no cold drinks in summer and even worse no air conditioning and finally the worst of the worst no cars (Cars need electriity to run the fuel ignition system)

I've experienced that as a hurricane survivor. It is difficult to say the least! Kids though, loved it. They would play outside by candlelight and pretended they were camping. The days were good as I would just sit outside in the warm sunshine with a good book. In this day and age, it is a necessity, but it is a good experience to do without for a few days.

I think you are right. We should try it at least for a day or two. We would have to re think life as we know it, if we suddenly had lost power after being so accustomed to this luxury.

I think if we are honest, we would struggle. When I was a kid we lived out of town, in a farmhouse, and power-cuts were quite common. You can live for a couple of days without the electric, but after that it gets a bit tough. We rely on it for keeping the food cold in the fridge. For cooking the food on the cooker. For the kettle, because we NEED coffee. It's just one of those things which we take for granted, and really shouldn't.

well for starters.. you wouldn't be here posting this discussion and i wouldn't be here responding to this.. it'd be pretty hard for us to survive in this world without electricity..even if the power goes for only a few minutes we get frustrated because we maybe in the middle of watching something or doing something.and the rising price of petroleum products are threating so the only feasible alternative that remains is electricity.. so we can't say no to it....

If electricity was never invented in the first place I wouldn't mind at all since it'll be meaningless. If it happens in today's world it becomes a serious matter. Every place will be jeopardize because we depend on it too much. Its a good thing that smart scientist invented new way to generate safer and more dependable energy.

I think that we would adapt to it. If you think about it there wasnt electricity in the past and people not only lived I think they had a better life in certain ways. Things werent so busy and I think they were happier in lots of ways. You do still have tribes and such without electricity and yes they live the simple life and I think that could be better in many ways. As for cold water they had pumps, hot water was heated by fire. Yes I think the work was harder but it able to be done. As for cars, they used horses and even mules in the old days. I really think we could do it.

I cringe at the thought of no electricity in the world... since we are all dependent on it... but i think if electricity was never discovered or invented... then man would just invent something that would make our lives a little better and easier... since man is very good at that... Maybe cars that doesn't need electricity to run...

If electricity had never existed then we would never have had those things to begin with so wouldn't miss them. We didn't have a microwave when i was growing up and it didn't damage us, when my grandparents were growing up they didn't have the type of refrigeration that we have nowadays and although i am sure they enjoyed it after it became available it wasn't something that they couldn't survive without. Air conditioners however i am very grateful for and hope to NEVER have to learn to live without!

Electricity did not exist during the early times and yet people were able to survive. Of course if electricity did not at all exist, life will be entirely different from what we have now. Certainly, life will not be this easy but the people will still find ways to cope. God will certainly give the people the wisdom to invent things that will make life easier for them.

actually i do not think it would be that big of a deal without electricity because if we never had it then we would not know what were missing. i am sure it would be more like the older days, everybody would use the fire for cooking and a heat source. i would not like it because i love my air and hot showers and of course the internet and tv. it would be more boring i know that.

It would be impossible to imagine world without electricity. We people heavily dependent on electricity from tube light to microwave , railway engines to street light , I mean everywhere we all need electricity from basic to high profile needs . Cant really think beyond it.

i think if there had never been electricty then we would be fine but i think that now we have had electricty 100 or so years i don't think we could go back we rely on it so much for communitcation, entertainment, jobs, life mangement i think a lot of people would go out of work if the internet stopped -emeretta

Man is a smart being, if there is no electricity, he would have found something equivalent to electricity. The same in nature, different term to name it. Man find and create new things to have a better way to live, more like power to lighten things up. I guess there still is electricity in my imagination. lol!

I have been thinking of how I would live without electric and have been trying to get prepared , i have a blog where i am sharing my tips on how to become prepared http://preparedforsurvival.blogspot.com and I think that it would be very hard. I would hate not having air conditioning , i think that is what i would miss the most.

I think life will become very boring. It will be much more difficult to cook. Besides, our entertainment will be less since there is no TV and computer. These play a main role of our lives. I love China

We would use fire for light and heat and to heat water for baths and cooking. We could run around naked and use hand fans and shade for air conditioning. we could also wet our clothing to cool us off. We don't need cars, we could walk, use horses, use bicycles or other animals. All these things were done way back when...we didn't always have electricity. We would adapt because we would have to and we wouldn't know what we were missing anyway...ie nothing to compare it to.

It reminds me of childhood. At that time ,the electricity is not applied in countryside widely. In night ,my grandmother lighted her old kerosene lamp ,then she needled the clothes. My little brother and I sat around her.She always had intresting story .And she sang old songs for us.That is perfect! Nowadays ,our lives are controled by the electricity.we could not fit to the life without electricity.Especially, when the darkness falls, people do not know what they should do and become anxiety.we could not wacth TV and be online.People might crowded into the streets in order to find the light or acqaitances.maybewe we can talk with my family and friends.and what about then ?Light the candle to read books?Who can do like that? Now people could not stand the dark light.we are used to the strong light. That is daily life of individul.I can not image the social activities. This is only my personal opinion.
