My most disastrous experience was during a big typhoon. I was at work that time and I was worried how I would get home. Then after work, I was so shocked to see any form of land transportation in the road and I was like HUH?, How would I go home? The winds were like going to blow you off the streets and the rain was pouring so hard! I have no choice but to start walking for home and I was so wet and everything that I brought was really soaking wet. The next day, I caught fever already and I was absent for a week. Huhuh...Don't want to experience that again.. ^^?

I lost everything in a big flood in 2006. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBkY-jyhfNQ. This is the area I live. It was very sad . We had to be rescued out. It was also very scary because the house was shaking and we had to swim out to get rescued.

Yes, I have lived through a tornado when I was a little kid. Recently, I survived Hurricane Ivan. I think that the importance of being prepared can not be overemphasize. There are a ton of websites that can help you to do this. I am partial to the FEMA site in the US. It has courses you can take to help you prepare for disasters.
