I have jsut spend the last Half hour typing a new discussion. Then I submit it and get a stupid RUNTIME ERROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no way I am going to be able to write everything just the way i want it. I had it formatted and everything. That just makes me so mad. What would you do?

Ahh man! I just got the runtime error trying to respond to your discussion! I'm not gonna type everything I did before, but I'll summarize it for you ;). Just leave the discussion alone for awhile and go do something else, then when your mind is refreshed come back and start anew. I know how frustrating it can be.

Hi {{double}} That's happened to me to many times, I can't copy/paste here yet until I reach my 500 score so being the windbag that I am, I have lost a few things and when it happens to me, I just throw a big old fit here, cuss a lot rant and rave and then just log off...(sigh)! it sucks! But you've got a high number here so Like others here if you think you might be typing something out that is lengthy I would suggest using Word too or something you can "save" while typing it ; That's the worst thing to have this great big long story, article whatever and then it goes BYE BYE SEE YA! That just makes me "mental" more so than I am (G)!

Yes, it is frustrating. on the other hand I have had a good response to this discussion so it can't be all that bad. :) I think I will live and my discussion can wait until later tonight. Thanks for the response.

That's too bad, I think we've all had that problem at one point or another here on mylot. I know it can be frustrating, but just leave it alone for awhile or go and do something else. Then come back to it when your mind is refreshed.

Funny! I read your following post before this one. I wish it would have accidently posted mine too. Oh the pain of having to rewrite.

Hi doubleloveyou. I haven't had that happen when I started a discussion or posted but I did have it happen when I tried to get into my messages. I thought it was just me but I guess they are having problems today. Try copying the discussion so if it happens again all you have to do is paste it. Maybe that will help. Have a good lotting day.

I know I should have copied it before posting. I try to when I do long discussions but I just didn't think about it today. Oh well, another learning exercise.

this is why I so badly wanted copy and paste...and everyone kept asking me why and telling me I shouldnt abuse it and all the other la-ti-da... I hate when Im typing something, trying to write something so it would make sense, but then someone comes or something happens and I cant just save drafts, I have to either delete it or post it not finished. Or when something like runtime error occurs or internet connection fails.. I bet you felt like screaming ;)

I was not at work I prabably would have screamed. LOL. I'll be fine. I will just have to rewrite it. Maybe in notepad or word. Just had to get my frustrations out.

Ah, that has happened to me to. Thats why I always copy the text before hitting the submit button. I know how it feels to lose all of your text only because of some stupid error. Also, if I lose my text I am usually so frustrated that I just leave the computer to do something else. Like eating or watching TV so that I can calm down from the loose. :/

Yeah I decided to wait until tonight to write it again. I want to rewrite it, but i don't want to feel like i am rushing through it. I want to make sure that it is just as good if not better than the first.

Well when I was under 500 posts and not allowed to use the copy and paste feature I would try my best to remember what I wrote. Sometimes it would work out okay, other times not so great. Another thing I did after I got fed up with losing my posts due to an error was type it out first in a separate program. That way if it happened I could retype the whole thing all over again. Not a fun thing to do, especially if it is a lengthy post, but it worked for me. But now that I am over 500 posts I use the copy and paste feature for this very reason. I don't like losing what I did so I do my best to make sure not to let it happen again...

God dont you hate it when that happens. That has happend to me so many times to me before mainly because the internet shuts off and I dont realise it. But what I would do is write your post in microsoft word or some other word form then that way if that happens to you you will have the post and can just try it again thats pretty much what I do now.

Hi there! It's happened to me too I rewrote it but it didn't come out like the first one. First attempts are better I feel and second time around it's never so spontaneous. I'm curious though so please do it again

That's really annoying and so frustrating. I have been there many times and been frustrated many times also. But I learned my lessons now, I always copy/paste it before hitting the post discussion or post response buttons and it works wonder to me. In fact the connections is acting up again just several minutes ago and I have done my trick and I have no information lost and I don't need to rewrite it from the beginning. Since you already have more than 750 posts, utilize the copy/paste feature, you don't have to paste it somewhere else. Just highlight it and copy and if ever you encounter the same problem, what you have copied is still there then paste it.

I do use the copy paste, but I had to run and do something so I just hit the submit button. I came back and it was RUNTIME ERROR. made me so mad. I will rewrite it later on today and see if I can make it just as good as before.

I usually use it when it happens to be a long write I've done and just to be on the safe side, who knows when the connection or the site will be acting up again. I just have the runtime error a several minutes ago and I was saved today with it. Good luck to you and hope it's good as brand new.

That really sucks. :( That happens to me a lot on Sundays for some reason. Only on Sundays. Maybe myLot does weekly maintenance on Sundays? But, again, you are having this problem on a Monday, so never mind. I don't know. I also just get in the habit of copying it so that I can paste it when myLot is working again.

Yeah I know. It was my weekly article on Survivor. So I am going to take my time tonight and rewrite it, hopefully as good as it was before. I have to get my weekly update out. Otherwise what will people do? :)

One good things is that once you get more than 500 posts you can copy and paste. So I will do that next time instead of writing it here on the Lot. Thanks for you response

That has just happened to me twice just now. I am fed up with this ****. It is doing my head in. You might not see this either as I hate going back and writing them again. I might start using my notepad and writing them there first. At least I could copy and paste them if this keeps up. O my. I was going to do this discussion too, until I caught this one. Hope this gets sorted out soon though. Yes it makes me real mad too.

I think there was a glitch today on the Lot. A number of people had this problem. I will definately copy and paste it when I am ready to rewrite it. Thanks

I hate that when I get a post or a response just the way I want it and then it won't post and what I typed is lost forever and can't be found...Retyping it remembering what I wrote is almost impossible and my time is more valuable then that! It makes me want to give up for sure!!! ~Heavens~

Yes i know how you feel. it's so frustrating if such things happen. As to how I would react, it depends if I had a lot of time on my hands then I can be patient and try to do it all over again. but honestly, more often I just let it go. it was not meant to be posted.
