I am a 15 year old who absolutely loves music. I play flute and alto saxaphone and I would like to pursue the violin. The instrument is beautiful and I would love to learn to play it. I've been told Im too adventurous to learn the instrument. People believe that I expect learning the violin to be as easy as learning the sax had been, but I know it will be very difficult. I dont believe I am underestimating the difficulty of it, I'm am aware that it will not happen quickly. I am prepared to work for it, and I can't wait. Any current violin players have any advice for me?

I play violin and I'd have to say the main thing is to make sure your technique is solid from the start. Don't slack off on bowing and holding positions and such and make sure to try for good intonation from the beginning so that you get an ear for the proper fingerings too. I've never tried learning the saxophone, but violin is definitely one of the more difficult instruments that I play because there are so many things you can do with it and so many things that can go wrong.

yea my friend britton who is very talented at it has started teaching me and it amazes me that someone as scatterbrained and random as him could be so good at an instrument that requires so much focuse saxaphone is a great instrument but extremely easy to learn. difficult to master. but simple to get the just of.
