there is a word "Survival of the Fittest" . if u cant survive than all of ur works got no result. thats y when i read this book i got angry. their love was awesome but u cant live with her happily ever after than its rubbish. whole the time i waste to read this book was a total waste of time. lover should be live happily ever after. i m not a lover. i m fighter. and fight for life is my target so i dont get it y this kind of things r written on books.

Romeo and Juliet were fighters. They did all that they could to keep their love alive despite the 2 warring families that wanted to keep them apart. At the end of the day and due to unfortunate circumstance, their deaths are the only way that they could be happy together. You've also got to remember that this play is over 400 years old and views on love and the patriarchal society that existed then is something that is not so apparent in todays society so reading it from a modern view point is going to give a different view to what audiences thought back then. I think Romeo and Juliet is one of the greatest love stories ever. It's definatly one of my favourite Shakespeare's.
