The Atlanta Hawks are off to one of there best starts in franchise history and they seeem posied to unseat The Boston Celticis as Eastern Conference Champions. Therefore, I am asking a simple question do think the Hawks can win the Eastern Conference.

this is kind of ironic as the hawks are doing the same thing a year later but didn't win the eastern conference last post season. is this a sign of things to come?

Fast starts don't really equate much in the long run in the NBA. Though, the Atlanta Hawks surprised everyone by being over .500 up to this point, they wouldn't be serious threats in the East -- yet. Give them a couple of years or so, ensure that their young core grows more, and get a few more pieces for the team. There's still too many more talented teams in the East: Cleveland, Detroit, Orlando, Boston, and Toronto would most likely be the top 5 while the rest would fight for the last three slots. One thing to look forward for the Hawks and their fans: they are playing well, and much more competitive. They have the will to win unlike before when they are merely playing out the season year after year.

anything is possible in the nba. They took the celtics to 7 games last year. They have a good team and it's gonna take alot more of them winning games before people start to realize how good they are. Right now it's early in the season. They're doing what the Tampa bay rays did this past season. They're in 1st place a few weeks into the season, and knowbody reallyy takes them serious yet. I told one of my co-workers this yesterday and he didn't even know they were undefeated. Knowone is paying attention to them. people are probably saying,"it's just the hawks, it's early inthe year and they will be back at the bottom of the division by the allstar break". It's the same thing everyone said about the Rays. The hawks got talent on their team. All those yrs of coming in last pays off after a while. As a result of being in last, they've gotten good draft picks, and they traded for Joe JOhnson a few years ago who knowone seems to pay attention to. Now with Mike Bibby and the second year Al Horford, they gonna make some noise. I can't forget about my favorite forward in the league in Josh Smith. We will see how they keep playing as the season goes along. I think the lakers are set to go oback to the finals. But in the east it's up for grabs. The celtics are beatable, the Pistons seem like they are going to be rebuilding in the next year or 2, the Cavs are allways mentioned, and for some reason I never look at them as a strong team.

They look good so far. Tough loss last night on the buzzer beater, but they didnt have Josh Smith. They will definitely make the playoffs and could be a force if they stay healthy.
