American society is heavy into eating fast food and on a regular basis. Some do not realize, though, that fast food is robbingus of or health. How often do you consume fast food?

I think it's the overeating of fast food that is destroying health. It is essentially a person's choice whether or not to go to McDonalds or Arby's and eat there. But, it is true that fast food, as a whole, has opened up a whole new way for people to further create problems for their bodies. A lot of the problems come around when people eat super sized items and then don't realize that they actually have to work off those extra calories. After a Big Mac or Whopper, it takes more than just a walk around the block to burn off everything that's just been consumed. Part of it is also laziness. Some people just don't feel like either making their own food or going someplace a little bit healthier.

I agree with you wholeheartedly Zawisza. Perhaps some people should argue that everyone should be treated the same and options should be reduced or taken away because some people in society are incapable of handling certain ordinary freedoms??? Oh wait, they already do that in Western Societies. Just listen to politicians, watch the news, read an editorial section in certain newspapers. Maybe it's time for societies in the West to "grow up" and stop collectively burying our heads in the sand and just admit that we aren't all the same and some people will always be more dependent than others.

Fast food itself does not "rob" anyone of their health. Poor habits and lack of self control is what destroys health. Nobody forces anyone to eat fast food and nobody tells anyone that they have to eat x amount of fast food per week. Part of the problem in "American" society today is that some people refuse to accept responsibility for their own behaviour. Garbage in equals garbage out. If you eat fast food everyday and don't exercise, then don't blame McDonald's fatty. If you lead an unhealthy lifestyle, which is the choice of any specific individual, then don't be surprised when you have a heart attack before you reach 50. Saying that I don't have time to cook, or that fast food is cheaper are just excuses. Go to the grocery store and check other sections rather than just the frozen food section and the snack aisle. Learn to cook properly and you will find that it takes nearly the same amount of time as heating prepared/frozen packaged meals or waiting for the delivery boy. The laziness and bad attitudes of some people are the cause of those individuals bad health. Perhaps some people would like the government to arrange for someone to bring the food from their plate to their mouths with some kind of utensil, tighten their bib when it loosens, burp them and wipe their a$$ for them after they are done too. Act like a bunch of babies and you will soon be treated like them.

A lot of what yo say is true and interesting. And of course, we are not forced to eat fast food. That is why I presented the question the way that I did.

Hello! I never eat out side home.I have no liking for the fast foods as these foods are cooked in unhygienic conditions and they contain artificial colors and flavors and preservatives.Regular consumption of these foods may cause some lifestyle disorders like diabetes, blood pressure and obesity.thanx.
