Stop people telling the same stories.

Will you stop your friends or other people, if they told you the same stories/topics over and over again. Cause I have such friends who like to tell same topic over and over again. Sometimes it's really annoying, I mean, didn't they remember they have told me that stories before. Actually, I never stop my friends from doing this, cause it might make them getting offended. But sometimes I just yell it loud in my mind, "Can't you stop this annoying behaviour !". Ha.ha.

Yes, I find that if someone is telling the same story again and again, I would get annoyed too. In fact I would get tensed at times, because I couldn't talk back to her and tell her to stop. It is like listening to the nagging of an old woman again and again. Sometimes it would spin my head, he he... If it ever happened to me, when she had repeated it the third time I would find an excuse to go away from her. I would say I have something urgent to do, or I would say I really have to go to the toilet. Talking to a person who doesn't think about others and just want others to listen to her is very boring. Immediately after I excused myself, I would not come again to her. I would close my door and do my own things. If she came to my door and knocked it, I would be very annoyed. Most probably I would not entertain her. But if she still knocked and determined me to open the door, I will open it but then I won't open the grills for her. When she had only said a sentence, I would suddenly say I had stomach ache and I really have to go to the toilet. And later tell her I want to close the door because I want to sleep. But there are people who doesn't understand. Like my neighbor, she will disturb me no matter what. She always force me to listen to her. I didn't like to listen because she likes to talk bad about people around her, especially the neighbors. I am sure she is talking bad about me too, behind my back. And she keeps repeating the same thing again and again. Fortunately I am going to buy a house soon. I hope in the future I would not meet another person who is so annoying like her.

I guess we have the same type of people all over the world as I too have a friend who is like that. All of his other friends also suffer from the same fate. Things become worse when somebody else upsets him, Imagine being told the same story five times in less than 12 minutes. He took a pause only to restart again. Seeing that almost all of his friends were annoyed with this behaviour, one night I had a long talk with him. Thankfully he has changed a little bit, and his other friends now dare to ask him not to repeat himself. I think we should never be afraid to inform our friends in a nice way what annoys us. After all friends are supposed to help each other. Lastly we should try not to make the same mistake. Usually I ask my friends whether they had heard me talking about whatever I want to tell before.

If you are tired of hearing the same stories, you can always shut your ears and pretend that you are following. i have some friends who always say the same thing. i just bear because most usually I do it myself without knowing.

My grandma does this all the time. I have become quite accustomed to thinking about other things that I can actually tune then out completely. So well infact that I have to ask "what?" when they are done. I am a habitual tuner outer. My husband gets annoyed with it but he completely understands and my close friends understand as well. I never let my grandma know though, she thinks I'm giving her undying attention and that is all that matters as I have heard all her stories before!

What a "great skill" you've got, but that "skill" might came in handy sometimes :)

yeah, it's so annoying having heard a keep coming back story telling. I am really frank i really tell her/him to the one who is relaying..hi! friend, you already discuss that topic..is there another topic? your topic is very interested anyway. then i will smile. so that he/she will not get offended..i think it's a nature of the person not to remember the stories he/she told before.

Ya, some of my friends like to do this, i don't know why. I just pretended listening to them, and in the end i would say : 'you have already told me the same story last time."
