Hi! Have you ever encountered allergens in your entire life? What is the thing or food that makes you become allergic of it? How do you handle it and what medicine did you took in order to relieve the discomfort. Allergen is defined as a nonparasitic actigen capable of stimulating hypersensitivity reaction of an individual. ( source: Wikipedia )Most common allergens are milk, peanuts, alcohol, fish, prawn, dusts and medicines. To share with you my allergens. Since college i was allergic to alcohol meaning beer, wines and all sorts of beverage with alcohol content. I usually experience red itchy rashes all over the body after taking an alcohol. It normally lasted for one week. The feeling is uncomfortable since it is so itchy and warm. Before i used to drink virlix as an anti-histamine but i am afraid of its effect to the alcohol that i took. So what i did i just wait until it fades. Another allergen that i recently discover was Ibuprofen. I took it once i had body pains and head ache I got swolen eyes and runny nose. It is really disgusting and i almost curse that medicine for the discomfort that it caused me. Let me hear your stories about Allerges!

I have a very odd allergy that I can avoid quite easily. I found it out the day I slapped a cow, that resulted in the hugest hives I've ever seen. My son is the allergic one in the family. Cillins and all poison plants. It isn't just an itchy rash either but ends up having to seek medical treatment. He got something on his leg from a poison plant and it started sloughing the skin off his leg. I keep him inside when they are working on the brush outside, cutting it down as I worry about him breathing it in.

I keep him away from poison plants and he's on record as being allergic to penicillin. You sent me a friend's request and I inadvertantly denied it. If you want to send another go ahead and I will approve it or I can send you one. Sorry about that.

i have seasonal allergies. from about the time the snow melts to summer (about 2 months) they flare up. it's like a really bad flu. my nose gets so stuffed up. it builds up so much pressure that i get a really bad headache. my eyes get itchy and i'm coughing all the time. the only thing that helps it is "loratadine" allergy medicine. it doesn't take away the symptoms completely, but it helps bring them down a little. recently, i also found out i have a problem with wheat too. if i eat wheat, it feels like my throat is swelling up, i get post-nasal drip down my throat, i end up vomitting lots of phlegm, and it feels like someone is sitting on my chest making it very hard to breathe. there is no medication i can take for this. i have to avoid eating wheat or else it's very uncomfortable for me. this is very hard to do since just about everything has wheat in it.

if i accidentally eat wheat, i won't die or anything but it is very uncomfortable. it's like the worst flu in the world for a couple of days. the doctor told me they can't do anything about it.

I don't have any sever allergies except to a couple of plants. If you're not allergic to stinging nettle, you can start taking the capsules on a regular basis. Nettle will help alleviate an acute allergic reaction, but if it is taken over the course of several months and kept up pretty regularly it can rid your body of its allergies. Don't worry, once the nettles are processed, they don't sting anymore.

I forgot to say if you are on any type of medication it is wise always to ask your health care provider before starting an herbal treatment. Sometimes the herbs can interact negatively with chemical medications.

I am allergic to eggs, peanuts, fish. Once in a while I get red rashes all over the body, and I react like the character Louie in the cartoons. It's awful.

Allergies are horrible to deal with! I didn't really have any as a child, but in my 20's I started, and now sometimes it seems like I am allergic to everything! I am allergic to certain pollens and trees, and I am allergic to dust. I don't seem to notice an allergy to animals, but I am allergic to the typical scoopable type cat litter. My cats have to use the silicon crystals. Also I am allergic to molds and mildews. And most fragrances, too. I think the things I am allergic to are things that are so common they are pretty much everywhere, inside and outside, and so that's why it feels like I'm allergic to all. My allergies are year round. But the winter is usually the easiest time for me. I take decongestant and antihistamine almost every day! And sometimes I have to add a nasal spray to that! If I don't, I usually get very, very itchy all over my body, and congested and sometimes sinus headache, etc. IN the spring, I get very sneezy, with watery eyes and itchy face, red face, it's awful...

I cannot touch anything that is highly perfumed or some cleaning products.(good excuse to get out of cleaning the oven LOL) If i do my hands will come out in a red rash and sometimes small watery blisters. And i will get serve pins and needles in my hands. It is especially bad if i touch anything that has been washed in biological powder. I did go to the doctors with it but they had no idea what it was all they said was that it was some sort of allergy. So now i just grin and bear it. I also found out that i was allergic to plasters when i had a serve allergic reaction to one. After that i was advised by the nurse not to use them. So now i avoid them. I also suffer from eczema which flares up whenever i get stressed or run down. I use sudocrem for it which helps a lot with the itching. But if it is very bad i will use E45 cream. My two eldest sons suffer very badly from hayfever they take anti-histamine for it. I also found out that my second youngest son is allergic to penicillin i found this out after he was given penicillin for a chest infection when he was a baby and his whole body came out in a bright red rash. Now every time i have to fill out a medical form for him or take him to the doctors i have to tell them that he is allergic to penicillin.

hi littleone, i think you have now a good reason for not cleaning the house. you just ask someone of your family member to clean it for you or else your allergy will attach. LOL nice move friend.

For me, I'm allergic to house dust mites. But it is not severe so I don't need to take medicine if I have the attack, although doctor recommend we to take antihistamine and follow an immunotherapy once a week. I will experience redness and feels itchy if I'm in a dusty room. I will sneeze also and this will goes on for a long time, sometimes for a few days. To prevent the attack, I avoid to enter a dusty rooms and I clean my rooms frequently. Usually I'll get the attack during exam week because during this time, the immune system is lowered by the hormone cortisol which is induced by stress.

I'm allergic to only some types of lactose and strawberries. That is, I've discovered that I am lactose-intolerant to some brands of milk and some brands of yogurt, which I simply avoid now. A short while after eating those dairy products, I felt nauseous and started vomiting. With the strawberries, I get small red spots on my abs and arms. I am not allergic to any medicine or other food, at least none that I am aware of. I don't find it hard to deal with my allergies, I guess nobody that is allergic to some type of food does. Food is easily avoidable, but I pity those whose allergens are found in the air.

Well, mine would be crustaceans. If I had too much crustacean foods, itchy bumps would sprout from my face. I had one scary allergy attack when I was a kid. I ate a really delicious crab but after 15-20 minutes, I noticed I couldn't breathe. It seemed the allergy was attacking my lungs and it was a matter of minutes before everything would collapse around me... Good thing a drank an anti allergy medicine at that time and it subsided. But these days I have a stronger immunity of some sort and I can handle my allergies but I still watch out for too much of it.

I have bad allergies sometimes. I'm allergic to dust, mold, perfumes, grass, pollen & I'm a little bit allergic to my cats. I have eczema also and I some times break-out with whelps and bumps all over my body. I also have bad sinus problems sometimes and I had a sinus infection that wouldn't go away and I had to take antibiotics one and off for 5 months to get rid of it. I have to take Zyrtec-d & Mucinex daily and I have to use a netipot to keep my sinuses clean so my infection does not come back.As far as I know I don't have food allergies and I hope I never do because I have enough to deal with daily then to have that added to my menu.
