i have a son and i would like him to learn and play soccer. if he can excel, i would encourage him too. i can play well but did not have the chance to do so as in asian countries, it is difficult esp with the traditional and conservative mindset of my parents. their thinking is that we cannot earn a living by sport. the reason hwy i choose soccer is because it is a phyiscal game of speed, endurance and skills and it will develop the body well. it is also a phyiscal game and i think my son would learn and benefit from it. what about you? do u have any game in mind for your child?

My older son (who is 8) is quite good at a lot of things. Though he does play sport and enjoys it...I don't think he has any exceptional skills in team sports. So, I did not want to waste money in putting him for any sport related classes. He goes for drawing, music and science classes as of now. But just last week, his swimming coach (at school) said he has great stamina and might be able to shine in the field of swimming. Since, it might get cold here now, I'm thinking of putting him for swimming classes next year. In the meantime, he has his regular classes at school where he has picked up quite a bit.

He has a lot of sports activities during regular class at school. The Sports coach asked us to send him for special classes for swimming which take place after school hours.

great. i think it is good to allow him to do what he is good at and slowly choose the games or sports he loves when he is older. it is not good to specialise in any games too early as it might affect their growth.

Wll i wouldnt force my child to be in anything. !! I would let him do whatever he wants to. He should be let free so that he can make decesions in life. So that would help me later in life when he becomes big in life. Well thats how i think about something like this. Well I would never put this in my child mind or anything like that. I do keep a nice watch at him but wouldnt force him or let him depend on me. Or else when he becomes big he would still be like that. Well Anywyas happy mylotting :)

yes. we should not force them to do things they do not like. let them develop naturally and the most important is our support towards him. now my son is very interested in balls esp basketball and he will scream whenever he sees on. he does not like tennis ball or ping pong ball. so i think he likes only big balls and he loves to watch them bounce and get excited by it

My family has football in our blood. We eat, sleep and breathe it. Football is a good sport because it has a lot of conditioning involved. There is more to football than smashing helmets. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication and definately discipline. And its exciting to watch. I have 2 years until my boys can start and I cannot wait.

wow, great. it is always good to have a supportive father just like me and i think my son would benefit from it. i do not have one myself and understand the difficulties when your parents dun support you.

Since my daughter is showing an unusual adeptness for the balance beam (she's only 2) and twirling, I was thinking that she would really enjoy cheerleading. Also, I think she's really going to enjoy soccer so I'll get her into that too. Happy MyLotting!
