I like science fiction and fantasy books, some mysteries, some romances, especially if they are either funny or have an sf/f twist. I will actually listen to audio books I might not read because I have less time for reading then I might like.

This is a very good question and I am sure that there are a lot of people out there who like to read books, and I am sure there are people who prefer one type of book over others, and they might even have one book in particular that they could keep reading over and over without getting tired of it,and then I am sure there are people who either do not like reading,or they do not have a favorite type of book and they just read whatever they can get their hands on,or they just read at certain times or certain places like at the library, when I was a kid I used to read a lot and my favorite type of book was mystery books like the Clue books, and the Boxcar Children books, because I always loved trying to figure out who did it,and then finding out at the end if I was right or not, because it was always very exciting, but as I got older I stopped liking to read, and I spent more time watching television because I have a short attention span,so it is hard for me to keep my attention on a book, and if I started reading I would often forget what I read so I would have to reread the same pages over and over just to remind myself what had happened, and I found that if my fiance reads to me,I do not have any trouble focusing on the book and I can also remember everything that happens so I can actually keep up with the storyline which is really good if you ask me,and right now she is reading to me from a book called Unto A Good Land by Vilhelm Moberg which is the second in a series of four books, about Swedish emigrants who emigrate to North America in the 1850's in search of a better life for them and their families and it is a very good series, and I still like mystery books especially the Clue books, and now I have found that me and my fiance both like books from older times mostly old west books, and we are at the end of the book but we do not want to finish it until we find the third book entitled The Settlers which we are having a little trouble finding the copy of the book in the set we have, and after we finish this series,we are going to read a book by Willie Nelson entitled A Take Of Tough Luck or at least I think that is the name of it.

I love to read, and if I'm desperate enough, I can read anything..LOL.. However, I'm predominantly a fiction fan, even though I have a decent collection of self-help books in my bookcase. I can read almost any genre, although I usually gravitate to those that have a romance angle. My current fascination is paranormal romance novels, and I can't seem to get enough of them. I'm currently reading Christina Dodd's Into The Flame, the fourth book in her Darkness Chosen series. Even with the Internet, I will always find time to read, no matter what.

I mostly read how-to books, since I have already read most of the great books of literature, and have little interest in trashy books. I like books such as El Cid, Chanson de Roland, the Mahabharata, Shakespeare's plays, and the Greek epics. Some of those stories are worth reading over and over. I also like Don Quixote, by Cervantes. In fact, sometimes I think I AM a female version of Don Quixote, as I do tend to tilt at windmills.

I prefer books with a sense of REAL LIFE- situations. I generally go for books that have actually been wrote by someone who has experienced something terrible, such as a murder in their family, how they were abducted etc. Though occasionally i like to pick up the fantasy book - but it must still have relations to something in a real life situation- such as twilight is really good- but i'm not so keen on Harry potter to be honest.

I enjoy reading detective/murder mystery novels. Those are the types of books I prefer to read. I always want to turn the page and find out more about the story, the characters, and such.

I love biographies, but only of those who have actually achieved something, not these celebrity ones that come out when the 15 yo actress has been performing for 3 years, or a footballer writes on his career- PLEASE! Give me someone who changes lives! eg David Bussau, who founded the idea of microloans (before the guy who got the Nobel Peace prize did!) and who runs Opportunity International. They fund 1 million jobs a year worldwide, and climbing. His biography is Don't Look Back, www.amazon.com/Dont-Look-Back- Abandoned-Champion/dp/17411439 50 I also love historical fiction.
