how can i boost my computer speed?

Dear friends! my computer is very slow when i am surfing! It is Intel p4 and the Ram is 1GB. i am using internet explorer 7. or it is best or may i choose other browser? or it is effected by any virus? i am using AVG free adition. please help me friends! i have a lot of trouble!

Increasing the RAM is fairly cheap and can help. Also, look into adding/upgrading your graphics card to one with more onboard memory.
CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/download can help fix registry problems and clean up unnecessary files and improve your computers performance.

Before going for the hardware updation just check your computer's taskmanager. Just check any unwanted programs running in your system. Better check for some viruses or any other spyware.. These programs may consume most of the memory. And one more thing before you are going for any RAM updation just check whether your Motherboard will support this updation. Happy surfing..
