Newater - Unique to Singapore - Purified water from sewage using a special new membrane technology!
There was a recent news article in the local papers which says that fresh water could be the new oil in future. Reminds me of the movie Waterworld, starring Kevin Coaster. In the movie, the whole world is submerged in water. Salty, undrinkable water. SO fresh water is a commodity that is highly values by the people all over the world. I sure hope such a day will not come. We still have a good over half a century to find technology to either reuse our water, or make fresh water from the existing water we have in the world... sea water that is. That is why there is so much talk about investing in research to produce fresh water from technology. The most famous one I know is the new water treatment plant that Singapore had developed to get fresh, industrial grade water from our human waste. You can read more about it from here -- http://schools.moe.edu.sg/rgps/html/history.htm In fact, here in Singapore, the newater is already being added to our daily water that comes to our home!

Well, we do not really have a choice do we? The recycled water is actually added to the local reserviors and treated again before it goes to the tap at home. There is no difference actually if you taste the water. Just that now you know, you probably have a mindset about it. Otherwise, no one would be able to differentiate it anyways. And if this fresh water shortage in 2080 is really true, then we would have much of a choice even if we do not like the idea of recycling waste to get fresh water. No?

yes, this is scary and it is only prediction based on current assets. i think mankind would be able to deal with it and there would be pp who can invent something or do something to resolve it. human is an intelligent race and they will not leave the problem as it is and i believed that pp would solve it.

water shortages occur all the time and it is getting worse all the time, you may experience a big one in your life time, if we don't start taking care of the planet.

Water composes our bodies and if it goes out of this planet then so will we and all the rest of life. Everything depends on water. Maybe we will morph into some kind of creature that thrives on pollutants and acid.

This is why people need to wake up and realize what they are doing. Everyone says well i am just one person what i do doesn't really matter. They over look that thousands of people think that way, so yeah what they are doing is making a difference, a negative one.

its not like it wont benefit them since it would save them money.. yeah water doesnt show much of a difference on your bill but my electric bill went from like 140-160 to 80-90 a month with a few changes etc..

Yes;a similar article appeared in our Local Newspaper also ,probably from the same report. This shows a very grim picture of the conditions in the world . Unless people and Governments the world over start taking immediate actions and steps to save water and augment its supplies;we are in for a very severe crisis . Regards Sweety_81
