Nope, our dishes and bowls and such do not match for the most part. A few do, but for the most part, there are several from before, some from stores, some from yard sales, and some given I believe. I don't think its important that they match, though. :) Also, I've dropped maybe one or two things also, and they've shattered so no more of that.

I am quite proud that all my dishes match. I was given a set of 4 large plates, 4 small plates and 4 bowls a few years ago, and so far I've managed to keep them intact (there were mugs as well, but I've broken most of those!). They're easy to match though, as they're just plain and white.
Glasses and mugs are a completely different story, I have a few pairs of glasses that were bought as pairs, but the rest are all completely different, and have just been acquired over the years.

I have one good set of dishes that all match, are the ones we use most often. I do have some other odd and end dishes that we got when we first moved into our house. It doesn't really bother me that they all don't match, we don't entertain much. I would like to have a really good set though for holiday dinners. It just livens up the mood.

Since our household is a combination of two...my husband was a widower...we have an assortment of dishes and glasses. He came with a nice service for eight and I had a couple of sets of four that match. I also have my good china...a service for 12...that is rarely used. We drag it out for Christmas dinner but not usually for Thanksgiving anymore. Our very casual, plastic outdoor plastic dishes consist of a very colorful assortment that I bought at Wal-Mart a couple of years ago. I also have some very old dishes that were given to me by my mom years ago when my first husband and I were starting out in life.
