When exotic is Expensive

My neighbor loves exotic animals like monkey, snake and some creepy reptiles, he has an aquarium of gold fishes and a pair of chihuahua. I can say that they are really animal lovers and his kids often helps in taking care of the dogs, etc. My mother works at an environment bureau and she used to be with the parks and wildlife. So when there's a ruling on "registering" exotic animals, our neighbor only registered a few and has to get rid of the others because of certain fees. My question is, do you have any special rues in your area regarding taking care of exotic pets?

manunulat hi yes I do not think in the area where i live in ca that you cannot keep most things like lions, tigers, big cat, monkeys these are all prohited since a monkey got loose and bit a small child. no sI think if one is going to have exotic pets they should have a farm and be away from the general public.

well there is nothing wrong in having an exotic pet as long as you are an animal lover and taking good care of it.... but if its just as a collectors item then thats a problem..... there are rules everywhere regarding exotic animals cos they are endagered too.... and if not taken well care of or kept in too much of captivity then there will be less in number..... which is illegal... even here in india if anyone is caught keeping a deer or any other endagered species whether taken well care of... it still is illegal and the person has to spend some of his valuable time in jail..... but still there are many people who keep them and keep it under wraps.... :)
