Can your blog reveal your personality type?

There is a new site that can tell you things about yourself based on how you write in your blog. It uses the Myers-Briggs personality system and analyzes your blog. Now, I write differently with different topics, so I'm going to want to play around with it a bit, but the first one I put in there was actually pretty good (other than my being a risk-taker - I'm more of a chicken sh!t). Here's what it said about me: The independent and problem-solving type. They are especially attuned to the demands of the moment are masters of responding to challenges that arise spontaneously. They generally prefer to think things out for themselves and often avoid inter-personal conflicts. The Mechanics (ISTP) enjoy working together with other independent and highly skilled people and often like seeking fun and action both in their work and personal life. They enjoy adventure and risk such as in driving race cars or working as policemen and firefighters. Here is the website: http://www.typealyzer.com/ Plug in your blog's URL and see what it says about you. According to Andrew Sullivan, it was pretty spot on for all of his blogs. Once you've gotten your answer, tell us about it. Hey, Myklj - if that offensive blog is still here, see what it says about that goofball. I'm curious!!

It says I'm a "The Guardians." Some of the stuff it says are somewhat true. Kinda cool. I'm gonna bookmark this site.

What traits belong to "The Guardians"?

ESTJ - The Guardians The organizing and efficient type. They are specifically attuned to setting goals and managing available resources to get the job done. Once they've made up their mind about something, it's quite difficult to convince them otherwise. They listen to hard facts and can have a hard time accepting new or innovative ways of doing things. The Guardians are often happy working in highly structured work environments where everyone knows the rules of the job. They respect authority and are loyal team players.

This is mine but I dont think its right. Maybe it was in my youger days but not now. ESTP - The Doers The active and play-ful type. They are especially attuned to people and things around them and often full of energy, talking, joking and engaging in physical out-door activities. The Doers are happiest with action-filled work which craves their full attention and focus. They might be very impulsive and more keen on starting something new than following it through. They might have a problem with sitting still or remaining inactive for any period of time.

It's still you, even if you don't act on it any more. I'm really surprised at how well it does, but like I said - I have different writing styles for different things, so I'm going to be wanting to see what it says about other things I have. If it's consistent, I'll be VERY impressed.

It actually does quite well, considering it leaves the human element out of it. But, I think our personalities can be read differently at different times. Check out my response just ahead of yours. BTW - I see you managed to get some sleep despite your night owl-ish ness of late.

Since I don't blog I can't check it out, but I know what I am anyway, INFP (The Idealist). The MBTI can give really important insights into how we communicate with people, and how we live our personal "myths". Grandpa

I got four different responses when I checked four different items I'd posted. I'm not fake online, but different facets of who I am come out depending on what the topic is. I am mostly introverted, but two of the items I checked showed "extrovert" - perhaps because the topic was one in which I have strong feelings. The only category that remained constant was the last of the four - "P". Every one of my writings is a part of who I am, but no single one of them tells everything.

well, i think it is not a way to reveal your personality. A person always tries to pretend what he is not in public and blog is a typical example of that.

I've never tried to pretend what I'm not in public. In fact, I'm more myself online than I am in public because I tend to be painfully shy and insecure in person. So, to say people ALWAYS try to pretend when they're online I don't think is an accurate statement. But, there are people who do try to deceive others. I don't happen to be one of them.
