IS going to college worth the stress?

With my husband being gone I decided to start taking online classes again. I don't find the classes themselves to be stressful. In fact, I find the actual "learning" end to be easy - but most of it is review for me. I do have problems finding time to do all of the work. Did you think your degree was worth the stress of all of the work?

Where is your husband? I think that if you really have a passion for what you are going for, than yes it is totally worth the stress. If you are only going to kill time until your husband gets back, I don't think it is worth it. I think you should do something that makes you happy if you are just trying to kill time. But that is only my oppinion

He is at Marine Corps boot camp. He got tired of being laid off about every 6 months so he decided to re-enlist. Sort of to kill time, sort of b/c I am 30 and HAVE to finish my degree. This degree is something that I am sort of interested in, but I really don't know what I want to do.

Well you don't HAVE to finish THAT degree.. you can transfer your credits toward another degree if you find something you would much rather do. If you have the mind set that you HAVE to do it, it is going to be less appealing and thus you are going to stress easier when doing it or thinking about it.

Everybody's Life is stressful, there is nothing in our life which is not stressful, however we have to makeup our mind to achieve something which makes happy and get our life going, So I feel you should go to college and study.

I tried this too ...going back to class..it's not the degree of difficulty it was jamming everything I do in one day that made my life stressful.. I think School is meant to be for people who can focus mostly on one thing..I found it all too overwhelming.

Prioritize what is important and do that don't jam everything, School is important to get new skills so it could be useful in life.

I would have loved to have gone to college, straight out of high school. There is no way I would have time for it now though. I am married, work seven days a week and have a 16 year old daughter.

Yes, you have a grown up daughter and you can look for online class or week end classes. When I was in school we have many people working, married and having children who needs lots of attention at least your daughter is 16 and she can take care of herself. There is a saying " Where there is a will there is a way.

Hi! For me, the college degree was worth it because I was interested in the course and the direction that my studies would lead me into. Up to now, I have been using all the things I have learned in college, as I am now the teacher. I think it really depends on the individual if the stress would be worth it. It is imperative that the person can see himself/herself applying what he/she is learning, and to always remember that when there's no pain, there's no gain. Everyone gets stressed at certain points because of the challenge of the study load. But in my opinion, that's what studying is all about. Good luck on your studies and happy myLotting!
