A Student's Worst Nightmare Come True!

This last Friday I had a student's worst nightmare come true for me. Well, at least it was definitely one of my worst nightmares! I woke up late on Friday morning, but I figured it wouldn't matter even if I did get to class a bit later than usual because it's a Friday and the professor usually doesn't get too mad. Somehow I made it there 2 minutes before class started. The first thing I notice is that the room is full. On Friday's normally only half of the class even shows up, but for some reason, everyone is there. Then I see that everyone has a scantron out. I ask the girl sitting next to me why everyone has a scantron out, if it is that quiz the professor kept talking about before but I never heard an exact date on. She looks at me in total shock and tells me that no, this is not a quiz, this is the midterm. I tell her to please not joke with me like that, it isn't funny. She practically shouts at me that she swears she is not joking. I soon realize that she truly isn't joking and I am just thankful I have a scantron on me. I look down and thank my lucky stars that I am wearing clothes. Have you ever had this happen to you? Would this be your worst nightmare, or what is your worst nightmare as a student?

That must be scary to have this happen all the time. I'm still not entirely certain how this happened to me in the first place. But I think I probably tuned out the professor's accent for awhile and gave up on listening and he slipped in the word midterm somewhere and I just didn't catch it.

A scantron I assume is a bubble sheet for answers? Or is it different? Well glad you had one on you, and so glad you got to class.

Yes, it's the brand name of bubble sheet used in the United States. I can't even believe it, I got a B on this test somehow. Whoohoo! Although, I'm disappointed that I still have a C in the class.

Thanks. Hopefully by the end of the class I can bring this C up to a B. I think an A is out of my grasp now.

Glad you got a B, I couldn't remember what they called the bubble sheets but I thought that was what their name was. In any case, I am glad that you got a B, but hate it for you about the C.

Fortunatly I never got hit that bad but I did have one time I was truly embarrassed. I had been missing the bus a lot and my mother told me if it happened again that I would be grounded for a month.. I was 13 and was thinking "OMG NO PHONE!" so one morning only a few days after she had warned me I was running late and I see the bus coming. I grab my stuff and run out the door and catch the bus just in time. Here's the problem ... I forgot my shoes. I ran a whole block in the snow with only my socks on with out noticing. Yeah I was in trouble when I had to call Mom at work to bring me shoes and dry socks but I wasn't grounded.

Wow, how can you forget shoes in the snow? LOL! I have forgotten shoes a few times myself running out the door and then have had to run back, but mostly because it's almost always fairly hot here anyway.
