i wrote earlier about my missing cat and how worried i was about her. She got out of my house around 4pm last night. usually when this happens, she comes back within an hour. last night she didn't come home. we drove around the neighborhood looking for her and couldn't find her. we then walked around the neighborhood calling her name and still couldn't find her. this morning, around 9 am i walked around the neighborhood and found her. She was dead. it looked like she had been hit by a car. it was awful. i called my husband right away. he came home from work. he told his boss there was a family emergency and he had to be at home with me. i am so very sad today.

Oh I am so sorry, that is so sad, I have this fear all the time as my cat prefers to be outside, I try to keep her in but she hates being inside unless it is really cold outside... I know how it is when you lose a loved pet and yea they are a part of the family...I hope you get another kitty to love ...

I have lost two cats in my life and each time I have said i couldn't go through it again, the loss is too painful, but cats seem to find me so I have another cat that found me and I wouldn't do without her...they bring so much love and ask for so little....

any time i lose a cat, even though it's painful i want another one. i usually get a new cat within a month of the last one departing.

I am so sorry about your loss. The same thing happened to me several years ago in front of our house. We weren't even sure how she got out. I went to work but was very upset. A co-worker told me about his dad accidently running over one of their cats with the tractor and at the end of the day he brought home a new kitten. Just the excitement eased the pain so on my lunch I went to the pet store and fell in love with my Einsteine. He's been part of our family for 15 years now and I wouldn't trade him for anything. I was still sad but it helped alot. Just something for you to consider.

thanks for your response. i was so upset too. but then on Sunday, i heard that a lady who lives near me was giving away kittens for free. i went and got one. the kitten is so playful and affectionate. it has helped ease the pain quite a bit.

oh dear that is really very sad. i've lost a cat once and it's like the end of the world. i couldn't eat or drink for days and i remained in a daze for a month. it's really heart wrenching to lose a loved one suddenly. since then, i forbade my cats from leaving home ever again. i got grilles installed so that there is no way they can leave home. i hope you'll be feeling less sad now.

I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. Please know that she is healthy and happy, playing at the Rainbow Bridge where she will wait for you until it's your time to join her there.
