I don't haven't made any plans yet what to prepare for Christmas, all I know is that my husband wants to prepare barbeques. We don't have any plans of cooking so many stuffs, just enough for a good meal for the family. In the first few years of our marriage, we used to prepare a lot of food, hoping that my husband's sibling would come to our place to celebrate, (his parents live with us), we soon realized that they have their own plans and we always end up with so much food leftover that we had to keep on stuffing ourselves with food for the next few days so that it will not go to waste. I don't think it was a wise move especially during these times.

yes that's another thing to consider. by preparing too much food, specially if you don't expect visitors at all, then just prepare enough food. besides, having too much stocked food is not good at all.

I’m thinking of seafoods. We seldom have it on the table during Chritmas I relazied and so I’m thinking of it to suggest to mother. My parents are into barbeque stuff because of their diet but I’m planning of steamed stuff with lots of seafood.

I think it's really adorable that you're children are requesting ice cream and spaghetti for Christmas. My son told me he would like pizza for Christmas and now I plan on making him a Cheese Pizza for Christmas. Kids are so cute. But for me and my husband we will make a Smoke Ham and Cheese potato casserole and a holiday fruit salad. Now all we have to do is decide which dessert we want to make. I do plan on making goodies like peanut butter fudge,no-bake cookies, sugar cookies and a cool cheese ball & other cool snacks for Christmas eve. I plan on making a lot of cookies and candies and put them in nice Christmas Jars and holiday tins and give them to friends and family for gifts. If you are not sure about what type of meals to fix here's a suggestion. Sometimes me and my husband don't make a Christmas dinner but instead we have a Christmas brunch and have home made blueberry waffles with fresh cut fruit and whipped cream topping then my husband makes a couple of ham and mushroom quiches then we make pumpkin espressos or brew up some vanilla coffee. When we do this we usually have friends and family over early for this brunch.

My family tends just to have a cooked ham and other related items. To tell you the truth there is no need in my opinion for a feast on Christmas. Enjoy the company you are with. By the way, happy thanksgiving. Undertheoath
