We used to attend a party every year at a friends house, but the last couple of years he has not thrown the party and it seems nobody else wants to throw one or even go out anymore. It seems all my friends are getting old, they just want to stay home and treat it like any other night. I think that is sad. We are considering going away for the weeked on New Years, maybe going some place a little warmer. So what do you normally do on New Years Eve?

We spend the new year with our parents as a tradition. My dad would light small fireworks to make things more festive. Hope you'll have an enjoyable new year!

I am sorry to know that your yearly gathering party had been stopped. It is common trend, because once everyone are getting older, we are less socialized and stick to our own families at home. Almost all of my friends are married, and they seldom hang around with us anymore. So, most the person who attend the gatherings are still single or not yet engaged. I have different activity on new year eve every year. Last year, I was with my friends, having a steam-boat gathering. The year before, I was having fun with another group of friends at the pub. The years before, are different too, some, I just spent my time alone at home, or chatting with course mate in the hostel, or working in the company office due to urgent order. Further back, I remembered I was with my parents, celebrating the new year eve at home, watching television and etc.

Every year my family usually cooks some food and it's really just a family type of thing. Everyone stays up late and we wish each other a Happy New Year. That's about it. I have never been any where else but home when it's New Years Eve. It's odd to think about going out really although it would be an interesting change of pace.
