With tax time almost upon us, you may or may not even be thinking about filing them, but, how do you prepare your taxes? Do you stick to the traditional method of filling out the paper forms by hand, or do you rely on the assistance of a software program? Or maybe you don’t even want to be bothered with it and let someone else do it for you? How do you prepare your taxes, and why?

I've been doing my own taxes since I started working in 1973. At first I used the paper form but then I started doing my taxes online when that became available. I also do a lot of other folk's taxes, including some small businesses in my town. The internet has made filing your personal taxes very easy and has reduced the need for hiring a professional.
