My favorite author is Christine Feehan. She writes amazing love/ romance novels. She uses magic, carpathians, vampires, shapeshifters, and other spectacular creatures in her stories. She does the stories in series form, but you can read them out of order and they still make sense. My favorite series of hers is the dark series.... these books are about the carpathians... they are half human and half vampire..... they find lifemates.... they are vampire hunters. It is very intriuging. I highly recommend any of her books. My boyfriend and best friend like the drake sister series. These women use magic and it tells about their lives. These are all really great books. So who is your favorite author? and why do you like them? What book would you recommend?

I, personally, am not into vampires or books with magic, but I am into romance novels. I only really started reading them this past year so I haven't found a huge number of authors that I like but I have found a few that I like and I found my new all time favorite author in the entire world, Suzanne Brockmann. I absloutely love Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooters series. She wrties contemporary action/suspense novels about Navy SEALs. I love her books because they seem really realistic. The characters are believeable and the plots aren't something that could happen in regular life, but they could happen to Navy SEALs. If you ever decide to read her stuff you definitley want to start at the beginning of the series with The Unsung Hero. The books will make sense if you read them out of order, but some of the story arcs span more than one book and you can best understand and follow them when they are in order. Some other authors that I like are Tara Janzen and Janet Evanovich. Janzen writes action-y romance stories similar although not quite as good as Suzanne Brockmann. And Evanovich writes comedy mysteries about a bounty hunter who has much more luck than skill. All of these authors write about action and relationships and they are all pretty funny too.

I just started reaing Brockmann and I enjoy her style of writing pretty much. I'm scouring the library for her earlier books since I started going backwards on her Troubleshooter/Seal Team 16 series. I cannot believe how well she wrote Jules and Robin relationship, and able to pass it off like a typical romance. She can write the male POV with such skill.

I definitely agree that she writes her male characters so well. For me that is one of the main things that sets her apart from all of the other similar authors. Who is your favorite character? I love Sam Starett but I think my all time favorite guy has to be Izzy Zanella. He is so funny and sweet I just love reading about what he thinks. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like he will be playing a major part in the upcoming book, Dark of Night. :(

Thanks for the response. I'll look into her books. I'm always willing to try an author. I like some weird things though... so who knows. My boyfriend might even like them. He likes action and suspence... I'll mention them to him also.

my favorite author is Isabel Allede because I am a big fan of magical realism :) I love how she tells stories through her writing. I have not read any books by Christine Feehan yet but will look her up next time I am in a bookstore :)

Thanks... I've not heard of her yet, but I'll look her up. I like most romance novels.. I just don't know of all of the authors. I can not read tear jerkers though.

I have too many favorite authors when it come to the PNR genre, although my top fave would be JR Ward of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It's about six warrior vampires who protects their species from extinction against an evil enemy. Love, love, her books. I read all of Christine Feehan's Dark series except for the latest, Dark Curse. Gregori is my fave among them. However, sometimes if I read them one after the other, the heroes starts to blend and the stories seem to get repetitive, so I need to take breaks. I actually prefer her Ghostwalker's series. I think it has more variety, and the men are hot!! Kaden's book is coming out this Dec. I already pre-ordered it.

I have not read any of Ward's books yet. I'll definately look into them though. I agree, Gregori is my favorite too. I also like the twins... I can't remember their names right now though. My boyfriend and best friend both like the drake sisters books the best. I like the ghostwalkers too. But i still like the dark series the best. I think the Carpathian men are hot... LOL! I own all of her dark series. My best friend buys the other 2 series. She reads faster than I do and sends the books to me when she's finished. My boyfriend also reads some of them, so we kinda keep the books circulating. My ex, my boyfriend's best friend now reads the dark series... so I guess I'm responsible for more followers of her books. Thank you for the response.

At the moment, my favorite author is Luanne Rice. She writes relationship novels that take place in coastal New England. I discovered her through an Lifetime mini series called "Beach Girls." After I saw the mini series, I had to read the book. Once I read it, I was hooked. As I read your description of Feehan's books, I wondered if you've read the Stephenie Meyer series. I picked up "Twilight" after seeing the movie and I'm enjoying it. Think teenage girl who falls for a vampire.

I have heard of the books and the movies. My best friend reads them and has seen the movie. They are a bit "tweenish" for me though. I think Christine Feehan writes a little more grown up. I'm not sure about all of her books though. I'll have to borrow a few from my friend and see after I have read quite a bit of them. Thank you for the response.
