All right - I'm on a Christmas roll here - blame it on Anne18 with her Christmas questions! But now that I'm thinking about it - what was the very best Christmas gift you ever got? Even though we've been divorced for over twenty years, I still have to say that the very best Christmas present I ever got was born on Christmas day 25 years before I met him - my ex-husband and the father of my two oldest children has been one of my best friends ever since the day we met. I think this year, I'm going to have to tell him that, just in case he ever wonders. How about you? What was your best Christmas gift ever?

Yep, all your fault! Oooh!! Record player! I got one of those at about the same age - mine was a portable one with batteries that also could be plugged in to the wall. I used to put on my Osmonds and James Taylor and Carole King albums just before I turned off the light and fall asleep listening to my favorite tunes. When the album was over, the record player turned itself off - which was a good thing, since I was usually sound asleep by then! Thanks for your response!

For me it would have to be my second youngest son he was born on the 21st December just four days before Christmas so i got an early present that year.He had a bad start in life having to spend his first Christmas in hospital because of a infection he caught at two days old. He is now 7, 8 next month and i would not be without him.

That first Christmas with him must have been such a tumble of emotions - gratitude and joy and anxiety and fear all mixed in together. But what a very special gift! Thanks for your response - and I love your avatar!

You are making me really think back on this one since I have not really gotten much for Christmas since I was a kid. I still get some gifts for Christmas, but it is more about the kids now than anything. My sister one year when I was about 13 bought me an ID bracelet. I think that is one of my favorite Christmas gifts ever. I lost it a few months later. It had fallen out of my backpack on the way home from school. I had taken it off in gym class and forgotten to put it back on. I found it about a month later. It was stuck in the road. I lived in a town where the roads were covered with tar and then covered with fresh gravel at least once a year. If you were to drive over something on the road and it got run over you would basically never get it back. It would get embedded in the road.
