What would you do if you had called a friend and the friend

said, We have got the flu and the house is a mess and I havent had any rest.The friend says to the friend with the flu, well dont worry Ill come over and fix lunch and clean the house and watch the kids while you rest.The after talking for awhile, the friend realizes she has called the wrong number and has just told a stranger that she would be there to work, and confesses this and the lady says are you still coming? What would your answer be, just saw this in my newsletter and it gets you to thinking.

My answer...NO I am not. I am going to call my friend who is sick and let her know I am coming. If you are sick????? call one of your own friends for help as I don't have a clue who you are.

I think it could be very dangerous to go to complete strangers house. If it was someone I knew that would be a different story.

Everyone sees this in a different light. Thats ok, because we all react differently to circumstances like these. If she really needed the help, I would probably go meet her and see what the situation was.Maybe she didnt have anyone to call ?

I don't have a clear cut answer for this because being a member of freecycle.org, I have met some great people and have done some nice things for them as well as some have done some nice things for me even though we were strangers prior to emailing. Knowing me, depending on how the conversation went and how much I felt I connected with the person I would probably go ahead and go.

Oh, I would too. She obviously had noone to help out and maybe no family . I think she sounded in need and was so sick that she needed to be in bed.1 person likes this

You what I think I would still come. Cause by the sounds of it..without knowing I made myself a new friend. A new friend that needed help. I could not turn my back on that. I figure if I talking long enough to offer all those services and not knwo who I am talking to...well my bad. But I could not go back on what I just offered. that would not only be rude but really inconsiderate of me.

I think I would go help too. I cant see not helping her and you never know when you will need help so you have to think of that.I would even ask someone to go with me and double up on the cleaning. Kindness is so hard to find in our world, everyone is ther when you are up but who is there when you are down?

I might be inclined to go...but not alone since the woman was a stranger. I would probably call my church small group members and solicit some help to go along.

I would agree with that and not walk into blind danger. Its always good to have people go with you and know where you are and carry some mace too.

Eaforeman you almost made me waste my tea. It's funny to know that a complete stranger would say that, still wanting you to come over. I know she really needs help and all, but still...It's funny, but I'll still do it because she seems like a nice person and because I said I would even though I called the wrong number. Why NOT help the lady. Would it really hurt?...Of course NOT!

I agree with you! We have all been in a spot before. We all know how it is to be sick and have kids or a mess at home....I would too. I sincerly would go help her and hope that I had help when I needed it . Merry Christmas!
