Some people don't have a lot for christmas course they just don't have the money or for what ever reason can't afford presents. They put up an angel tree at work a couple days ago. It's a little christmas tree and it has little tags hanging . On the tags is the age and the gender of the person and what they would like for christmas. I took 1 yesterday and the lady just wanted a red sweat suit with the sweat shirt. So i'm getting it for her. I never bought a stranger a christmas gift but it feels good to help someone in need. I just wanted to share my little story.

Me and my kids made up 2 shoe boxes to send to Africa for orphans,we did one for a girl and one for a boy,all they contained were a toothbrush and paste, toy, note book and pencil, some gloves and some sweets,I sat my eldest 2 down and explained to them how happy those children would be just to a recieve a shoe box with those few items in,i felt so good inside for doing it and knowing what happiness it would bring on xmas day!

That's so sweet! You are a wonderful person. It always feels good to help others in need. I was just thinking of giving a hand to a few neighbors here who's struggling to pay their bills. I haven't decided what I'm gonna do for them yet, but I'm thinking now. These are really nice people and they didn't have any money to cook thanksgiving dinner so we bought them a few things to cook and make a meal from. They enjoyed themselves, and so did we.

This is a wondeful story and I am so happy it makes you feel all warm and cozy inside. I would just like to say that people need all year round not just at christmas. So if you feel like doing something special at different times of the year their are plenty of different organizations. You can donate some time that is also very rewarding. Just a little bit of info. We tend to hear about everything around christmas time and I just believe it is important for people to know the need is year round. God bless

Hi missybear! I think that is a very thoughtful thing to do. I have never heard of an angel tree before. It sounds like a wonderful thing to do. I'm sure that the lady whose name that you picked will be so happy with the gift that you are going to get her. At least you will know that you are going to make one person's Christmas alot happier. I think that really is such a great thing to be doing. It really does make you feel good to do something nice for someone else.

It's really nice of you. I think many people have this impulsion inside their heart. That's to help others in the range of their ability. I have ever donated 10% of my month salary to two kids who sufferred leucocythemia, althouth I was not rich. The feeling is good. Wish you and all kind people happy.

That is a very good thing that you did. Actually I will be giving gifts to my loved ones only since I have only a few money for this Christmas.

that's so nice of you. as for me, you can just send me a pedometer so i can keep track of my progress when i go brisk walking and jogging. lol! seriously, i always donate a good amount of cash to my favorite charities during christmas. i have a coin bank for each of the seven charities that i support and i deliver these coin banks to these charities around the second week of december. during this time, i also try to have a feeding program for the plus a little talent show for the members of these charities. i do this with the help of friends and family. it can be tiresome especially with christmas around the corner but it is a worthwhile experience that i look forward to doing every single year. the angel tree is a good idea and i might do something similar next christmas but maybe for just one or two charities just to give it a try and be a working program in the next christmases to come. cheers!!!

I'll be giving my old clothes to make way for new ones. Most of them are signatures. Also, to be able to share your blessings to those who are in need.

It's a great time to help others if you can. Every year I get together with some of the ladies in the neighborhood and we sponsor a family in need from a charity from a church. There is a list with the ages of the family members and what they need or want for Christmas. We do our best to buy the things on the list, then we wrap the presents and take them to the church. The church then sends the gifts to that family in need. Also our Dollar Store has a Toy's for Tot's program where you pick out a toy for a dollar and put it in their donation bin. It's a great feeling to help someone who really doesn't have anything.

I do hope I could do the same too, but maybe the good that I could do this Christmas is to help the people around me feel the real Christmas Spirit.

actually, we never fail to practice the tradition of giving small presents to strangers every Christmas... it always feels good to make someone happy on that very special day..

I am going to go to an orphanage and do a feeding program and also give them the gifts we have collected in the neighborhood.
