Musings while waking up...

tick tock tick tock tick tock... My eyes are still closed but I could hear my small clock work as what once was a distant noise from the garbage truck starts getting louder and closer. "Aah... Today is Thursday." My ears tell my brain. "Why are garbage trucks so loud? Ooh, that could be a myLot post." "Should I open my eyes? It's still early. Am I really going to wake up now? If I dare open my eyes, then that's it, no more sleep for me." "But didn't you resolve that you were going to sleep as long as you can to get more rest? You went to bed a little after 1am. It might only just be 7." "I feel like I've gotten enough sleep." So I slowly open my eyes. "The ceiling is so white." I closed my eyes then opened them again and turned to my left and saw my bookshelf. "Is that Battle Royale my copy or did my brother just gave it to me for safekeeping? Think. Try to remember. I remember something about him loaning it to me but I also remember something about him giving it to me. Oh, well. Have to ask him later." "What time is it?" I moved my left hand to reach for the usual spot where I leave my cellphone. It's not there. "Oh, it's still in my purse." I turned to my right and saw a fuzzy clock. "How come I can see things clearly on my left and can barely see anything to my right? Hmmm... if I put my glasses on, then that surely will really wake me up." I closed my eyes again and reached for my glasses on the desk where it usually goes with the phone. I put it on, opened my eyes again, checked the time and it's exactly 730am with the second hand moving. Then I saw the framed vista of Paris just above the clock. "Someday soon, I will go to Paris. Eiffel Tower, I don't know what's so special about you but I just have to see you. Did F (my sister) say that she went up the tower when she was there this summer? Why can't I remember this? Oh, well. Have to ask her later." "That smoke alarm needs batteries. I think I should check on the others around the house to see if they need the same thing. If a fire or gas leak happens, we would all die and stupidly so. You have to start a post about the idea you had about smoke alarms on myLot. That ceiling light looks like a boob. And why is that plate still so shiny? It's not like I've wiped it clean since I moved back." "Oh, well. Here we go. Another day. Must turn on the coffeemaker and make sure F brings a banana to work." Are you aware of the conversations you have in your head when you wake up?

My eyes open 10-30 minutes before my cellphone alarm goes off. That is mostly what happens, I talk to myself in my head and then when the alarm goes off, I get up or I just set it off before it rings as I don't want to hear that noise in the morning. Happy snoozing, riyasam and thanks!

I try to do the conversations on the other end of sleep, just after going to bed, but in truth usually I fall asleep without getting through any of them. No, they are not still there when I wake up. This morning I awoke early to check on my cucumber flower. There have been many body flowers on the plant but every day for weeks I have been waiting for a girl flower as I had never hand-pollinated one of those before and heard that if you don't get up early they open and close and you never see them. Well, dimly through my sleep I could see there was a big girl flower wide open and ready for pollen. I took care of that little detail, took some pictures of it, and went back to sleep. Zzzzzzzz. When I woke up I looked to see if hubby was awake as I wanted to tell him that we were going to have a baby cucumber, Hah! No coffee drinkers in my family.

I have found out that if I try to think of stuff before I go to sleep that's when I get restless and more worrisome and end up getting less sleep. And for me, they are still there when I wake up in my head. Like the sentence being finished or something. I am interested to see this cucumber flower if you're going to share the picture soon as well as the baby cucumber. Thanks, drannhh. I drink coffee, sister drinks coffee... boyfriend drinks the coffee-ish stuff but late at night.

Hi anne! You sure are pretty damn talkative for the morning aren't you! I guess I probably have alot of stuff going on in my brain like that when I wake up but, I'm sure my stuff is probably even weirder! And probably alot more jumbled! And I probably also tell myself to shut up! And then try to go back to sleep if I can! I don't think I would dare start a discussion about whatever craziness that I was thinking! I wouldn't dare even if I could remember it! But, thanks for sharing because I did enjoy your silliness! I hope you did remember to tell F to bring the that banana to work! Did you move back home or something? Did I miss that discussion? Don't meant to pry, but I'm a bit confused with that last statement.

My brain sure is talkative some mornings, Opal. And yes, they get jumbled and different thoughts come after the other. We are in our brother's house. He has an apartment in San Francisco and that's where he's been living for years now. My sister and I moved back to this place (as we were living in our own apartment for 3-4 years) when my mom moved to her own house. Boyfriend moved in with us too as we have four rooms and having three people pay rent is much better than two, ain't it? Boyfriend is moving out to his own house before the year ends. I'm still deciding.
