With all those personal drudgery and the global slumps and terror, my life is getting terribly monotonous and lusterless We have been reduced to a bunch of essentially grumpy, angry people! That hurts me! We must smile, laugh, poke, tease, taunt, have fun. We must go ga ga over panda spanking. So, guys will you join me and smile at a stranger NOW? Just a genuine, sweet smile! And see the difference it makes to your day! Are you ready, guys? Some times your existence gives hope to your loved person Some times your smile makes a difference to a stranger It can tie your day with the ribbon of happiness Your smile may be a pearl for someone So value yourself

I agree with you, mimpz. Every morning I smile to the world and it does help me to be positive and happy in my daily life. This is a good plan and good attitude to have and I'm with you. Keep smiling.

Yeah it is.. let's smile at the world, a real smile and I am sure we will be able to help ourselves. So, when you will be off for bowling today, smile at one stranger and see the wonder...

Maybe after lunch, I haven't prepare lunch yet and I will in an hour. I may have to be careful smiling with the strangers, they might misread it, lol. But I will smile at the world.

Oh yes, we have to be very careful for sometimes an inappropriate timing could lead to wrong signals which is gross! But I am sure, you can smile to a kid..he wouldn't mind!

I'm with you. It doesn't cost much to smile. But a simple line drawn from our lips will make a big difference. Smile at the sky... And the whole world will smile back at you.

What a coincidence you brought up this discussion at this time. I happened to be at a court complex this morning and while waiting for our turn there, was watching an elderly man grumbling and rumbling about his having to come over there every month for the last 8 months or so. He happened to turn my way and for some reason i happened to smile at him and it most certainly was not for any amusing reasons. The reaction i tell you was amazing. The man actually stopped his rumbling, came over , briefly explained the cause of his frustration and quitly sat down next to me calmly awaiting his turn. A simple smile. It works wonders . And you are so right Mimpi. We need this more than ever today. Trust me, it feels great too. Do it and you will see the difference, and i for sure would not hesitate in doing it again today.

We do have to be careful that we are not misinterpreted or people take advantage of that smile. At the same time Mimpi you have been doing for so long now. And it would have made a world of a difference to a lot of people in the hospital. Keep smiling and you will for sure be making a lot of people feel better.

Thanks you shared this lovely thing! All through my years in hospitals, I have seen how a smile can actually act like a magic! Even though I run less risk of being miscommunicated or misinterpreted for I am supposed to do that but nothing like a pure, real smile. People have come up to me and have told me that how much they appreciate this gesture of mine.

Yes, this is the sweet little thing, which we all must do and do it as much as possible. I smile, whenever I get an opportunity. Your suggestion is worth impelmenting. It is said that - 'Smile costs you nothing, however it brings happiness'. A smiling face is always welcomed and appreciated. When we smile our muscle also expand and contract and it gives us a good exercise. Sometimes, when I do not wish to say anything, I just convey my feeling through my 'smile'. My smile says a lot. Likewise, if you ask some questions to the other fellow and he/she smiles, it means that he/she is in agreement with you or may be endorsing your views. Every one loves smiling face, therefore, I've selected a baby with a smile as my Avatar. Keep Smiling!

That's a very good plan, mimpi. I will do that tomorrow as I venture out of the house for another whole day. Might make a stranger's day, it might also make my day. How about we smile at a stranger NOW or whenever we leave the house and also smile back at the reflection as we look in the mirror? For now, I lay myself to sleep. Goodnight, mou.

That's a great plan! I think the latter has to come first. Unless, we love ourselves, smile at ourselves we cannot give our a real smile. Sweet dreams.

oh this world sure needs this smile and say hi gesture to go around and i love the idea that i would probably make someones day or make someone smile back at me.... but its so unfortunate here in india that when someone...a total stranger looks at you and smiles...its taken in a very wrong way .... maybe not in some parts of india but it isnt taken in a good sense here where i stay.... expecially if its the opposite s"e"x you are smiling at...either they think you may be retarted or they would think that you are giving them signals of flirting.... but i have heard and seen so many countries abroad who would just look and smile a hello to a perfect stranger and i really wish that in india it wouldnt be interpretated in another sense.....

Smiling doesn't mean that we are weak and those who think that we are weak just because we are resilient are stupid.

Hello, mimpi1911! Yes, let's all smile at a stranger! What bad could it bring? No matter how grumpy people are getting, no one can resist a sincere smile. If you do it correctly, people will soon feel happier when they see you passing around. They will feel happy and this will start a chain. They will know that smiling will be good for others. And everybody will start smiling at everybody. And the world will be made of people smiling. That's what we need. REVOLUTION! Yeah, I will help you. I will smile at somebody. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

Hi mimpi, I smile everyday, to anyone i meet, i do it subconciously, i like smiling to people i meet without any malice for i wanted to see them smile too. It brings some friendly atmosphere when i did it specially a genuine smile. The only thing that i cant smile is when i am sad or if i have something very serious matter in my mind. It is hard for me to do it. Can you?

Hmmm..it's a very nice and genuine idea...I'm willing to give it a shot. But I hope it isn't misread as an open ivitation to something else. When a stranger smiles at me..especially a man, I'm quite wary and wonder if it meant something else. It can be taken the same way with me smiling at stranger, right? A stranger at the apartment complex sounds okay...but for example smiling at a stranger at a mall might feel strange...but I'll do it for you:)

May be yes and may be not really. I used to feel the same way but thanks to my job intricacies, I have kind of developed this empathetic approach. I am glad that I did, after all. And also I feel, a sincere smile cannot be misinterpreted. We don't have to over board, we don't have to overdo. Just keeping it simple works for me. It helps me fight the drudgery.

Yes, yes, YES mimpi! 'Tis a fine plan indeed! It is something that can be done that doesn't cost a thing and can lift the spirits of the darkest of souls. How many times have we all been feeling down and then the unexpected smile of a child for example suddenly numbs any and all suffering we are feeling? Laughter is the best medicine and a smile is it's foundation stone!

I am with you on that mimpi, no matter how tough our day can be and the problem we have it is quite impossible to smile if we keep thinking of it, but whenever we smile to someone, the feeling of easeness uplift the heart of someone and your self as well.. its a free gift that we can offer to everyone, we have to practice stretching those grins on! Great discussion mimpi !

I always try to smile at strangers too. You're right a smile can sometimes make someones day. I know when i'm having a bad day & a stranger smiles @ me & just takes a second to say hi it makes me feel better. i always try to do it all the time too. You never know what kind of day someone is having. there is a lot of terrible things that happen to people.

You are right, I am with you, a smile would make us feel better and it would be nicer to smile at someone for we could share happiness... But i guess, before i would do that to strangers, i better have to give smile to my hubby, coz we just had an argument yesterday and i still dont feel good. but i will try to smile so as to change both of our moods... this is a great idea mimpi1911... let's share our smiles to everyone starting at home...
