Hi I was shocked looking at basic recommnedation for windows 7, it needs memory: 2GB;graphic: 128 MB minimum; processer req.= 1.7 Ghz minimum. Its totally uncompatable for my computer. 2GB memory requirement isn't a joke.

i think microsoft just continuing the vista trend back again... the hardware requirement same as vista... i hope they will trim down windows 7 as much as possible to continue dominate as the large OS company...

I totally agree with you. As we can see,Seven may be only a "reduced and fixed" version of Vista. Bye

i'm also thinking the same thing... by seeing the screenshots of windows 7, i think they put a lot of effort to improve it...

I am not a computer wiz but can't you just add more memory...I have a friend who is trialing it at the moment and he showed me how much less it takes to store things it was massive...almost like it has a diferent way of storing your files...

well in most cases u can add memory but a give every1 a warning now some newer pcs like the 1 i have cannot have memory added on. we opened it up to put a new ram chip in and found that everything is all built into the motherboard and there is no expansion slots in it (note this is a new compaq presario model i bought back in february of 08 so its fairly still a newish model and they still sell this model at walmart where i bought this 1 from my understanding) well i guess thats what i get for buyin it for 400 dollars lol after programs start takin alot of ram im sol until i get a new computer but im thinkin of investin in an alienware cause those things wont need to be replaced for quite some time they usually come standard with about 2 or 3 gb ram and like a 500 gb hard drive but they are custimizable so you can actually get a 5 gb ram and a tb hard drive with them (and note that this is the laptops they sell that u can have this i havent checked the desktops yet but they can cost quite a bit the 1 i customized to see what it would run was about 6 grand for a laptop but it would be worth it cause im sick of replacing these darn things cause they mess or up go outdated.

Ya microsoft is compelling people to switch their old PC's. Now it comes for 2GB of RAM. Though its final version is to be release yet

I'm using Mandriva on a Celeron 1.6ghz,1gb ram,80gb hdd...with all effects turned on,and i'm sure it has a better graphics and speed than any Vista or Seven in the market :D
